FSCJ Nursing Program pre-nursing student

Published

I've been having trouble figuring out what my next step should be after applying and being denied for Spring 2016 semester at FSCJ. I will have my AA degree in December of this year. The main reason why my points were so low was because I made C's in 3 of my classes (including both A&p 1 & 2) which is not good at all. I'm not sure whether I should retake those classes and with me graduating this semester, I'm not sure if it would matter or take place of my previous grades. I also have been toying with the idea of applying to the UNF BSN program, which I know is way more competitive and I don't think those grades would allow me in. In the mean time since I have no more classes to take for Spring, I was wondering whether it would be a possible or good idea to obtain my CNA license and work as a CNA in the mean time. I just don't know how long that takes or how to go about doing that. I am applying for the nursing program again for Summer 2016 cohort and if I don't get in for that, I will be applying for Fall 2016 cohort. I guess I am just confused as to how much time I have between now and possibly Fall to obtain a CNA license and land a CNA job for experience. Any advice whatsoever as to what I should do is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't believe you are allowed to retake a class unless you received a D or an F. Maybe retake the HESI when you are allowed to try to pick up more points?

I believe I can retake classes at another institution on a non degree seeking status. I am retaking the hesi as well. Thank you for responding!
