FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls

Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.

Yes, per the actual forms in the nursing application packet for the ADN program at FSCJ the window you are allowed to submit you application in is between April 1-June 1, with June 1st at 5pm being the absolute latest you can turn your nursing application in. If you are mailing your packet it must be postmarked by June 1st otherwise it will also not be accepted. Good luck to all!

The one answer I can't find in the pack they gave me is what kind of transcript I need to attach. Is my unofficial transcript printed out acceptable or do I need to go somewhere and have them give me a copy? Now that spring term is over I'm getting pretty excited about everything.

Hello everyone. sorry i have not been on here and posted in a while. i have been super busy. I am so excited to have my AA degree under my belt now. I am not taking anymore classes until i get into the nursing program. I have been focusing on preparing to retake the NAT on May 29th. I turned in my application last week with a 178.96 and when if i retake the NAT on the 29th, i will hand in the score sheet in person. If i do not feel like i am fully prepared the day before, i will cancel my appt. I am happy that they look at both score sheets and take the highest score for each category. When i retake it, i only need 11 extra points to get my total score up to the 190's.

Great job Jessica! you are pretty much secured. I highly doubt that the cut off score will be higher than that.

I am applying with a 181.96 because I am missing micro and sociology! What do you think my chances are?

Jaturner, that is a really good score but the cut off score varies depending on how many people apply and with what scores. The closer your score is to 190 the better.

I know just stinks because I am taking micro over the Summer and the sociology credit i took at UNF doesn't apply to FSCJ, so I'm missing two classes /:

Dont stress out about it, because you never know;you could still get in. If not, you know you will get in for sure with a score in the 200's when you finisg your last 2 classes and apply again.

hey everyone, i'm applying for the fall and I'm extremely nervous. I just finished my micro class and I'm waiting for it to show on my transcript. On the application it said a B in micro is worth 4 points, so what is an A worth? I'm applying with 191. 13 points and I don't feel it will be enough. I just took my NAT on the 14 and got an 85 with minimal studying, and i hope that didn't put the nail in the coffin for me getting in.

Hi aHamilton, welcome! 191 isn't bad at all. I think that should be good enough because the cut off score has not been higher than the 180's in a long time. For the summer 2014 it was 185.5, spring 2014 was 175.96 and fall 2014 was 187.20. It depends on how many students apply and with what score, so as you can see it varies each semester. An A is worth 4 points, a B 3 points and a C 2 points. I hope this helps
