FSCJ Fall 2021 Hopeful

Just about to start A&P 2 & Microbiology - my last two pre-reqs to apply for the RN program at Florida State College at Jacksonville in Fall.  I have my HESI Study Book, and plan to get ready for that too!  Anyone else?

They don’t confirm your point value with you. They send an email confirming your application and then you won’t hear from them again until 4-6 weeks after the deadline with a decision. If you’re missing something they’ll reach out beforehand. But for the most part it’s just waiting LOL They don’t find out the point cut off until after the deadline when they’ve had the chance to review all applicants. Well I applied to the nursing program. Did GREAT in pre reqs. 1 C in college algebra and 1 b. However my HESI scores were barely passing. Passing, just barely. I doubt I will get in for fall. Already planning to take classes to be able to apply to other schools as well as gonna retake my HESI. Super discouraging but it is what it is.

Does anyone know how wide the acceptance range can open up? I keep seeing it depends on the application pool. At the school when I went to take HESI I was told the fall semester had the most applicants in years. So I’m assuming that means their point window will be more narrow?

Historically, from what I’ve seen people in the mid 130s-160 have been accepted. I’m so nervous!! I hope we hear back next week.

I actually have a 134.6 I’m PRAYING somehow, someway I get in, but not feeling too hopeful. It sucks to be so close yet SO far.

I also heard that the amount of seats is greater during the fall. Not sure why that is. The cut off was around 134-135 for this past Summer semester. I saw someone post the denial letter. For Spring it was like 137.. if I were you I’d just start manifesting it! Even if you get wait listed, there’s a great possibility someone could choose a different school. Never know. Don’t feel discouraged! You’ve got this!!

I really appreciate that. Truly. I knew I wanted to be a nurse but feeling this anxious and this nervous about all the hard work I’ve put in just makes me realize even further how bad I really want it! So close I can taste it!

Trust me I’m in the same boat. I had to retake the HESI because I was so anxious. I did well on all the sections but my subjects I was usually the strongest in I got Bs and the sections I was usually crap at I got As. So I needed to retake to boost my chances. I wanted to get the As in the grammar, reading, and vocab to get the extra 5 points they give. I’ll be praying for all of us. Hopefully we all get in this semester.
