Frustrated with NJ BON

HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP ME WHO RECEIVED THEIR LICENSE RECENTLY IN NJ... THE BON IS SOOOOO SLOW. i TOOK MY NCLEX ON 10/26.. WHEN CAN EXPECT THAT NUMBER. WHAT ARE OTHER PEOPLES EXPERIENCES, TIPS OR SOMEONE TO SPEAK WITH AT THE BON... OTHER THAN THE CALL CENTER

I took my NCLEX on 10/2/2011, and just got my license today 11/16/2011. Keep calling them, that is the only way to get them to issue it.

It takes at least 4 weeks, often closer to 6 weeks post passing NCLEX. They review not only your results but also the results of your background check, and then I'm told a committee votes on issuing licenses. You can call the BON and ask the status of your license. Since you took your NCLEX on 10/26 they'll likely tell you to not expect your license until around 11/28-12/2 or so. Mine took 5 weeks from the time that I passed the NCLEX. My classmate got hers in 4 weeks, but she was previously fingerprinted as a CHHA so only needed the updated background.

mine also took more than a month. but my friends who took nclex on the same day i did, they got it earlier than that because I am 100% sure you have to keep calling and calling them to really open your file and review. I finally got it after I called 3 days in a row...

I took my exam in July and didn't get licensed until September. I think the call that finally got results was asking for a supervisor and then asking for her to explain how classmates who took NCLEX after me got licensed before me....my number was issued a little bit later that day. They even called me back to give me my info.

Thank you for all your helpful info... this process really takes away from the excitement from finishing nursing school.. i was a pca for a hospital and have tuition reimbursment and now that i have graduated and taken my nclex i cannot work as a pca but i cannot work as an rn with out the license number... sucks because they let me do orientation and now that im done i cant work at all until i get that number.. its good that i def have a job tho... i sent my app the first week of sept and wasnt put on file till oct 7 then took my nclex on oct 26 so im moving along but this waiting is killing me.. guess ill just keep calling everyday like have been... any advise?

it takes 6 weeks really. i hand delivered my application for endorsement to NJ BON and they said everything was good and it will take 6 weeks. 6 weeks later, after checking NURSYS repeatedly, it was there. I know endorsement and initial licensing application is different, but it does take a while.

if i was you, go enjoy urself for the next couple of weeks, before u go back to the toxic life we call nursing.

it takes about a month after passing the NCLEX. i took the test on Oct 4 and just received my license yesterday. did you check the website? my license number appeared on the website about two weeks before i got my license. if you have your number you can work as a RN. your hospital just has to verify it online.
