I am thinking of applying to Frontier when I graduate from nursing school, but I know you don't get a bachelor's when you take the bridge route.
Would this be problem if I wanted to get a Doctorate in the future? I have a very good medical/vet/nursing university 20 min away and their site says you need a bachelors to apply to their Ph.D program.
Would having the MSN override not having a bachelors or should I get the bachelors and then apply to the program? I'm just thinking long term since I'm at a crossroads here.
Has anyone come across this as an issue of not being considered for something because of not having the bachelor's?
( Also I'm not American, so I'm still trying to understand the educational system here. In my country you need a masters if you want to apply for a doctorate and there is no way around undergrad if you want to go to grad school.)

It probably wouldn't matter once you earn your MSN. If you want to be sure, email the program you are thinking of and ask directly. Pretty much any university is going to consider your transcript more than the degrees you hold. Since the bridge program is essentially all the nursing courses of the BSN they are very unlikely to be picky that a BSN degree wasn't actually granted. Also, by the point you're considering a post-MSN DNP, they are going to be much more interested in your graduate coursework.
One other note, you may want to be cautious of a bridge program doesn't grant a BSN because there is always the chance, however slight, that you might not finish the MSN for some reason. Employers will not consider you having a BSN unless you actually have the degree. Depending on where you live this may make it very difficult to find a job, will likely mean you will be paid less than BSN nurses, and if you want to complete a BSN you will probably have to repeat coursework. I know everyone assumes they will graduate but life happens and people do leave school for personal, academic, or other reasons they didn't anticipate.

When you enter the MSN at Frontier, you are already automatically placed on the DNP track....why not just finish there and not have anything to worry about?
