Hi, Is there anyone out there who has applied to the FNP program for Frontier Bound in June? Looking for potential classmates and support while waiting to see if we're accepted. Good luck everyone!
Hi guys! I applied to the FNP program.
I like public health so far. I was so tired of working 12 hours and the night shifts. Needed a change. There are so many programs with public health to learn, currently feeling a little out of place, but I'm learning all sorts of new things. Immunizations (in great detail), Women's health, STD's. Today I went to a elementary school and did physicals on kids. Fun. The pay is low, but the state benefits are good and my body is enjoying the shorter shifts and sleeping at night. I also feel like I'm doing something positive for my community.
Yes, I guess I've worked in a few different areas of nursing, but that's the great thing about nursing. I think it's all basically the same though, patient care.
Good Luck! I am looking forward to a great adventure! I am positive that we will all make it. I'm 51, if I can do it, anyone can.
Yes, I've done some stalking too and have seen in some posts that FNU notifies students about 6-8 weeks before Frontier Bound. The closer it is, the slower the days pass by. I feel like I should be doing something to prepare myself if I do get accepted,,,, like reviewing pharm or pathophysiology. Just not sure where to start, and if I do start to review, it will only add to my disappointment if I don't get accepted. What district of public health do you work at. I'm in district 4!

It is nice to suffer (wait) together. I think being a public health nurse would be a great experience!
