Charles, I also applied to USA but I haven't heard from them yet. I am really getting anxious. I applied 3 places but had my heart set on Frontier. I am on the waitlist.

I received an email that said the wait list will be finalized after September 29th.

I received the same email. Or similar

After September 29th for the 131 bound? That is a while. ..I just received acceptance for South University, Savannah GA. But I would like to hear from Frontier, Simmons, and USA. I applied for Frontier 's FNP 133 bound (Dec 1 -4).

yes after sept 29'for 131. I talked to one girl who got accepted off the wait list from 130 and she heard the Thursday before frontier bound on that monday

So you won't know placement on wait list until 29th? Ugh that is a long wait to know placement.

I applied for the class 131 at Frontier University. Unfortunately, I didn't get in, but I am considered in the waiting list. Anybody here is in the same situation?

Correct. I also spoke with someone who said that it seemed like the "spots" on the waiting list were just holding spots and not necessarily your spot. It's not quite clear to me how people off the waiting list are chosen. This info is coming from previous students and their experiences not from the university

I'm on the waitlist too. I hope we get in! Good Luck.

What is this wait list? So you wait until start date or next bound? I was surprised to know Frontier was rate 42nd top nursing school...that is pretty good top some other popular schools.

What bound did you apply for Maranda? 131 or 133? And which other schools did you apply to?

I applied to USA as well, but for PNP. Looks like I won't hear from them until the first week of October. Anyone else apply there for PNP?

Charles, There is a waiting list for people who did not get picked. The frontier bound date is November 10-13 for class 131 so it is really cutting it close for some people to get arrangements made or who pick another school.

I applied to the University of Central Arkansas and University of South Alabama and am still waiting to hear from them. I did hear from UCA in Arkansas and they had to ask a question about clinical sites that I could go to so that gives me hope!

" Like how many people accepted vs how many people wait listed vs how many people applied"

I've seen this question asked - or some variant of this question asked - so I thought I'd take a stab at answering it.

It appears that about 60 students are accepted per "class". This number seems to be limited by the ability to accommodate students at Frontier Bound = there's only so much room on campus to house students overnight.

In my class about 40% of the students are CNEP, 60% are WHNP and FNP.

Additionally - classes are merged during terms - so more than 60 students enter MSN coursework during the same term. It appears that about 150 students are in each class during the first term. This includes two classes from different Frontier Bound dates, post-MSN students, and ADN-MSN bridge students. Some students are part-time, some are full time.

I think some of the issue with the wait-list is gauging how many students can start at a certain time - and trying to calculate how many existing students will be starting during a certain term - or if anyone has to re-take a course. Attrition must be a factor, too.

Overall, I was quite surprised at the number of students enrolled in each of my classes - though these are the core classes - and all students must take them regardless of their major.

I had the same question when I applied to Frontier - so I thought I'd respond. Though I was still surprised to find out that 140-150 students were in my first classes. I had no idea that Frontier was enrolling so many students each term.

Thanks for the additional info. I do know that Frontier Bound 131 and 133 actually start classes at the same time which corroborates your information above.
