I'm from Vermont and my interview is today(Thursday) at noon. I did speak with her at length last year while I was still in school, so I imagine it will go about the same. Probably it's the same as what we had to write about: Why midwifery, what do you want to do with your degree blah, blah. You already have a master's so at least you know the amount of work we have ahead of us!! I can only imagine........

So I just had my interview!!! It was nerve wracking, but she was talking to me like I was already in.
Why nurse midwifery?
What are your strong and weak points as a nurse?
How do you react in a stressful situation as a nurse?
Why frontier?
Pretty straightforward and Susan's really nice!
Good luck to you all and I hope to meet you in Hyden!

Hi!
I had my interview today, and you were right, Suzan is really nice! I felt very comfortable talking with her. I can't wait to find out if I am accepted...she said it would take a maximum of 2 weeks after all my materials are in...so hopefullly I'll know by mid-April or sooner! It woudl be fun to already "know" someone before going there. Keep us all posted!
Cheers
Just submitted application, I am hoping to!!! Maybe I'll see you there!
I have not seen you post for awhile. Best of luck to you. Good to see you back again!
I am just curious...I get these little pangs sometimes about the CNM thing. How old is too old to start? I am 41 nowand doing my Master's as Perinatal CNS/Educator. I like education, but I really do like clinical situations. I never mind helping on the unit, etc.It will probably take me about 4 years to finish my program. Right now, I think I may go into academia, like a community college when I am done w/ my MSN and moonlight as staff. I just started in staff development as a unit educator, so I am getting my feet wet. Are there any 45 or 50 year olds going to Frontier? Would someone want to hire me if I did decide to get my CNM at that age?

FYI, I finished my CNM program when I was 47. Worked as an L&D RN, WHNP, BSN instructor, etc. trying to find my niche in life. You are never too old!
