NJ22 I could see why that type of dog wouldn't be appealing

Dianah that sounds like a good recipe

Tweety hope today's shift is less busy

TMB glad that he's returning  today

Stars I can see why having a pet again would be nice, and would certainly be less work than the rest of them

Work wasn't too bad yesterday,  although the end of the day was spent on the phone with IT trying to figure out why I can't text.  Will have to work on it again today

Had virtual counseling over lunch, first time in 5 weeks.  So much to go over that I forgot some stuff. It's good to talk but sometimes it's a bit sobering, and gives me things to think about

Tonight after work the gay group has another potluck, I'm bringing the chocolate chip muffins. Going to try and be a bit more forward this time, normally I'm reserved

Will be another cooler day in the upper 60s

Up early-ish for my nail appointment, which I REALLY need pretty badly!

Hubby was going to come with me to have his fingernails cut, but has decided to stay home because he didn't sleep well and his stomach doesn't feel good....a 'normal' thing for him in the mornings. I told him he needs to call the doctor, and he said he did, yesterday, "but they didn't call me back." (!) I said that he had to call and say, "I need to make an appointment." He has been out of Lasix and is about to run out of Metformin. His lower left arm and hand are somewhat edematous and his left shoulder aches; I might go to the doc's office myself and make the appt for him! I swear he is such a foot-dragger and this is NOT stuff to keep putting off. GADS!

Welp, I am finishing my coffee and will be on y way soon.

I won't be getting the dog until, not this weekend (because of the hurricane) but hopefully next weekend. Hubby has told me that he thinks a dog would be good for me, give me a lot of pleasure to have a fur-baby again. I think so too.

Okay, for now I am signing off, and will be back later to check in with you'n's--

Nails all done! I also called the doc's office and got an appt for hubby for 3:40 this afternoon! Good Luck for us, I think! We'll be leaving around 3:20 PM. I'll let you know after the appt what they say.

Nannie is up and this is the second day in a row her bed has been DRY!

Next Tuesday we ALL have an appointment with the hairdresser.

Enjoy your potluck, Joe.

Stars, I can see how having a pet companion, a dog friend, would be a positive thing. Now us, we have too many beings in the house who pee, poop, and vomit (not always in the appropriate places).

Gma was mad at everyone last night. Hubs has been playing around with her seroquel dosing. Maybe he thought it was behind her word salad communications. But omitting it just means she is angry when she spews the word salad. Hubs was also in a huge snit, storming around and growling. "I'm tired of cleaning up after everyone. If I quit doing the things I do, this place would turn to sh!t, and no one else would lift a finger to do anything about it!". I feel unjustly accused.

The county fair is starting. The author of the book I read recently about the woman who crossed the country on horseback in 1954 will be at the fair tomorrow for a discussion and book signing. I guess I probably found that book through our library's "please Reads" program. Anyway, I might go meet her. I like to look at the displays at the fair, too.

When we looked at daycare for Gma, the facility required at least 3 days of attendance each week, saying they found it worked best for everyone to have that kind of consistency. Hubs didn't want to commit to that, so we didn't.

This is supposed to be our "last 100-degree day of the year". We shall see.

Hello all!

Ado, what pets do you have at home?  We have six cats (down from 10), and a Chihuahua-Pomeranian (all of 5#).  And yes, we also find their various "offerings" on the carpet or floor...  We clean and then move on.  Do go to the fair (even though it's hot), it will be a nice break for you, and you will get to see the book signing. ?

Joe, good you had your counseling appointment.  Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

No Stars, you accomplished a lot if you got everyone in for manicures!  And let's rejoice in the little things: Nannie's bed being DRY in the morning, X2!  It's understandable you want to delay getting the dog.  I agree, it's more work for you, but the rewards are priceless.

I wanted to go to a memorial service tomorrow, but with the rise in Covid cases, I am having second thoughts...  I had stopped wearing masks at the grocery store, as it is usually not crowded when I go.  However, I may start wearing them in public again.

Have a good evening!

Hmm. The left arm's swelling below hubby's elbow was a puzzler for two docs at the office! They wrapped it with an ace bandage which has already slipped down to his wrist, so I will rewrap it in a little while. The doc he saw said to take 2 ibuprofen and one 500 mg tylenol three times a day. He got the refill for the lasix, which hopefully will help. Now that I think of it, he is also supposed to be elevating that elbow and hand above heart level , but he is saying I can rewrap his arm and put a pillow under it...."later". (Grrr!)

I sent a text to my friend in Florida asking where they had gotten my new 'used' dog from, and was she spayed, was she ever chipped, is she current on shots? Inquiring minds need to know! I am kind of disappointed I won't be meeting my 3 + 1/2  pounder until next weekend. By the way, she is blonde with a white forehead / snout blaze; not sure of her paws' colors yet, like that even matters, but still....I can't wait, but I have to!   OH WELL!

Stars, does she have a name already or will you get to choose one?

Dianah, we have 2 medium-sized dogs, Darby and Dory, who are approaching age 15. And 3 cats: Turbo (15), Binx (7 but we've had him only about a year), and Sam (4).

Darby in her old age doesnt seem to know when she needs to have a BM. She just walks around dropping turds. So far, though, she does OK with peeing outdoors.

Turbo has always been a vomiter and hairball-hacker. Now she has feline stomatitis and can only eat soft foods. She still vomits but since she doesn't groom herself as much the hairball are less frequent.

Binx is a neutered male who still sprays urine. Very frustrating. If he weren't so sweet...

All the cats will pee on towels/laundry/etc. if we're not careful to put them away. Both boy cats have the stinkiest poo ever. And one of them doesn't do a good job of covering it in the litter box.

And Binx and Darby have both vomited recently.

I am *over it*. I love them all, though.

And then there's Gma but at least she can wear Depends. She vomited the other day, too.
