NJ22 glad you were able to get a handle on the chaos

Tweety glad you still have power

Ado glad he went to behavioral health

Dianah J seems to be doing better the last few days

Stars that's disappointing he decided not to see the GI doc, hopefully his PCP will talk to him about it

Yesterday was a fairly quiet day at work, finally.  Which was a nice break

After work was quieter than expected too, the choir director fell  and bruised her hand, so no choir practice last night and no performance this  Sunday.  Did the grocery shopping as usual

Hoping today will be quiet as well

Talked to dad, he still  has a lot of unpacking to do.  BIL  was helping on Wed.  I'm going to see if he needs me to stop by this Saturday for a bit to help with unpacking

Will be another nice day in the mid 60s here

Good morning!

Joe, hope that you have a quiet day.

I'm off today.  Got up real early for some reason and will resist the urge to nap, but losing my ambition and it's only 8:30.

Nothing much going on.  Going to make some lentil soup Jamaican style, and some Cajun potato salad.  Will head to the gym first.   Washed the sheets already so got that done.

Have a great day.

Hubby was squawking about his little 02 tanks running out so fast (he only sets it on 2), but even with multiple tutorials from me he gets confused as to how to shut the tank off, so he may not always been doing it right. He had trouble trying to get the 02 people to answer the phone and grew crankier. I dialed it on my phone and pressed '1' so they would call us back when they could. My phone rang a short while ago and he was able to talk w/ them, and he won't get any small tanks until Monday. Meanwhile I threaded the 50 ft. of tubing from the condenser over things so he wouldn't be tripping on it. It ticked him off, saying "why have you got all this crap draped all over the place?)  I said if he would use the condenser, he could use the smaller tanks if the power was out, or if he needed 02 when traveling (not yet very likely). He came down to the den and tried the 02 from the condenser and said it worked fine. I told him he could take off the nasal prongs and not have to worry about turning it off or re-setting it, if he was just going to be away from it for a short time. He is now talking about bringing the condenser downstairs to the den. It would be right behind his chair, and I'm not sure either he or Nannie will be able to tolerate the sound, even with the condenser set on a rug. I made him promise to NOT bring the condenser down, that if he wants to do that, *I* will bring it down. I could just imagine a trip on the stairs while he's trying to carry it with the arm on his sore side.

So, yeah, I'd say he was already drinking a good bit already today (it's 3PM).

It is in the low 70's, grey and raining, w/ wind coming in intermittent gusts.

Glad to hear you are okay, Tweety. I know you are right about the denial: "If I don't think about it, it doesn't need any further investigation, and I am fine." Yup, until he isn't fine, whenever that might be.

Not sure if there will be a baseball game tonight or if it is called off due to weather. Not sure what the storm is doing in Atlanta....if that is where they are supposed to play. We'll see what we see when we see it.

Welp, here's hoping the rest of the day and evening is uneventful.

Now 3:40 PM and hubby decided to go out and pick up supper (spaghetti and meatballs) from the place that stupidly closes at 4 PM. I hope he doesn't get in any accidents! It's raining and windy; maybe there won't be too much traffic?

And (isn't there always an AND!) Nannie asked if she could use our bathroom. It's HER bathroom. I decided I'd better see just how wet she is. Very. Stripped from the waist down and redressed in dry stuff and double padded her pull-up as requested. I have her stand up and hang on to a towel bar and the bar on the outside of the shower door so I can yank up everything over her big, round bottom. Next thing you know she isn't hanging on to anything and is trying to pull her stuff up and getting very unbalanced. I said "Nannie, hang onto those bars like I told you to." and I placed each of her hands on the bars. I said, "You and your son don't listen very well to what I tell either of you!" And she giggled.

Then I went into her room to put the wet clothes in the washer, and lo and behold----There was a big round wet spot on the top of her bed where she sat down and soaked it all the way through to the pad on the fitted sheet. So I am laundering her top sheet and two blankets and a bedcover now. GADS!

It's been a tiring day. Lots of little task-y things at work, plus listening to unhappiness about workspace. I did get to meet some lovely clients, 2 from Ukraine, 2 from Nepal. That is the part of my job that I enjoy. The weather was too nice to be stuck inside, sunny and about 70 degrees. The fog reminded me this morning that October is just around the corner. I helped youngest ds with a job application for the post office tonight, to be a rural route driver. Fingers crossed that he gets a steady job.

The pictures and videos from Florida are astonishing, as are the survivor stories. I just cannot fathom that amount of rain in such a short time.

dh got his covid booster and first shingles shot yesterday. He has 2 sore arms, but felt worse when he had COVID in May. His coworkers threw him a little party today. He is finally get used to the idea of retirement, and I've got a honey-do list started. I told him I expect him to a martini ready for me every night after work. Just kidding, I've never had a martini in my life!

Good heavens, NoStars, what will you do if hubby gets a DUI? Or damages the car? Boy, that would be a rude dose of reality! Any way, stay safe and don't you be trying to move that concentrator. I would think the oxygen company might move it for you.

I am so glad it's Friday. And no nasty tropical storms headed this way.
