Good Morning (for another 6 minutes, anyway)~
Struggled awake at 11:20 AM, took my meds for my aches. Went down to feed Momo and make a cup of coffee for me. As I was going back upstairs I caught a glimpse of Nannie settling into her chair and putting a blanket over her lap. I didn't stop, I just kept on going up toward my bed, and here I sit, trying to wake up. Sometimes it is hard to summon spit for my chores, and taking care of Nannie before I am awake is one of those things!
I did find my book of checks yesterday AND rec'd the new checks mailed from the bank. But, discovered no house keys anywhere, and I checked ALL my pockets in the closet with no luck.
I do have to hop out to do several errands, and if Nannie does not conk out sleeping in her chair, I will have to load her up and she will have to sit in the car whilst I gather things from the store. BiL brought my check last night, so I have to make a deposit in the bank, too.
It is going to be in the low 60's again, but sunny today. I have a bucket of mailings to take my name and address off of before I start shredding them, and the rest that has no clue to my identity on them can go into recycling. I will have to do my own shredding, as it does cost to bring the stuff to one of the two shredding places, and I am trying to save $$. Seems like we all are trying to scrape up more $$.
Guess I ought to get dressed and go down to tend to Nannie.
OMG x 25 !!! I spent 25+ minutes on the phone talking with a guy in customer service about my auto insurance, because on the latest statement they had hubby still listed. *I* thought by taking him off the policy I would get a reduced rate, since I am the only driver, but nooooo. Stupid insurance! The guy told me that they don't "do" refunds on policies, and that usually when you take someone off the policy, it INCREASES the rate, even if you have a sterling driving history. So he reworked things to help me out, by cancelling the old policy and starting a new one, and upshot is I will be paying $30 LESS a month now, on the new policy. Which is good, but previous to adding hubby to my policy, I was paying just under $150/mo when the policy was just for me. HE said the insurance was only on the car and not the # of drivers. I said when I put hubby on my policy, after he got rid of his truck (which had a different policy with a different company) the price of the policy went UP by $65/mo or so. Naturally I assumed that the hike in the monthly cost was due to him then driving my car. So I thought they were going to give me a refund, because hubby passed away and should not have been on the policy at all, and I should not have had to pay that monthly increase of the policy during this last year. I believe I still have the letter from them upstairs that said I would be getting a refund.....well, on and on it went. Dumb ol' me, thought I was due over $500. HAH! But, the guy said no, that wasn't how it worked and he understood I was not happy about that, but that was the way insurance works. Ppppfffftttt!
So, after I finally hung up Nannie asked what was going on and I tried to give her a simple explanation, but then somehow she had it in her head that she might get a refund for the clothes she is wearing today.. (!🙃!) I tried to tell her that MY car insurance has NOTHING to do with her clothing, neither were related in ANY way at all, which made her unhappy. She sat there staring at the floor and chewing on her lower lip, which I KNOW is a sign that the questions were not going to stop. After going around with that for another 20 or so minutes, I had to tell her to STOP thinking, there was NOTHING she had to figure out or understand, PERIOD.
NOW she is doing the multiple trips to the bathroom, and because she had already peed several minutes before I asked if she had to poop, and she said she did. BUT, apparently she didn't REMEMBER she had to poop, because she kept leaving the bathroom without having done anything. I finally got her to stay on the toilet and got out my gloves to check her...I mean, I just disimpacted her yesterday so I wasn't expecting her to have anything there. Alas, there was more rock hard pellets, SOME of which I got to move along, but there was still more waiting in line, so to speak. But she was exhausted from trying to push or bear down on her rectum when I'd tell her to. I got her up and back to the chair, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if she decides she has to go again.......BUT WILL SHE? Get out the prune juice, Mabel, and the applesauce and bran flakes and a couple of Fleet's enemas! This story isn't over yet!
While I was waiting for her next calling-out that she had to go to the bathroom, she told me there were red things in the garden. I said it was probably cardinals, and then had to explain to her that Cardinals are red birds. She said "But if they are birds, why aren't they flying? Why are they on the ground?" Because they eat bugs and seeds that are on the ground. She said "But if we put power out there, it will ruin everything for them." No, Nannie, we don't have to hook power up to the garden, so the birds are fine, they are just eating 'supper'. THEN she pointed to her shoes, her legs, and her belly, and told me they "all have the same doctor". Ooooookay then!
See why I get frustrated after an ENTIRE afternoon of this? As the Brits might say "Bloody he!!"
I am going to go upstairs and prepare some supper with a LOT of vegetables and also give her a bowl with a variety of melon chunks and berries in it.
BUT FIRST! She wanted to go to the bathroom AGAIN!. But there was only a teeney-tiny piece in the toilet when she said she was through.......larger than a BB and smaller than a marble, Back to her chair, and gave her supper. I don't know whether to hope the poop moves down or moves back up higher in her bowels. EGADS!
Hello all!
We decided not to go to the jam today, as the temperatures are below 60 degrees, which is difficult for us to play in. Yes, we can bundle up, but our hands get cold. So, I messaged the jam organizer with our regrets. We will try to attend his next "fest," as now we know how to find the ranch, and we have the gate code, AND I have his phone number to call if we have trouble!
I did two loads of wash (still need to fold them), and did a run to the grocery store. When I got home I made a new recipe: Chicken tomatillo soup. It smells good (though I forgot to get limes, so I squeezed some lemon juice into it. I know it's not the same, but it's SOME citrus-y flavor). We will have that for supper.
Tomorrow we have nothing planned but Zoom Sabbath School (we missed it last week, as we were in Carlsbad for the festival). On Sunday we have band practice, to prepare four songs for a Sabbath School in December, at a house in Oak Glen.
It did sprinkle a little this afternoon, and still looks threatening. The local mountains got 3-4" of snow, it looks so cool on the eagle cam! The eagles may lay eggs as soon as January, and as late as March. We'll see 1) if they lay any eggs and 2) if the eggs hatch. Three eggs were incubated last year, and not one hatched. So sad.
Have a good evening!

Stars glad that she showed up, even if she was late. I knew someone who liked Death Wish coffee due to the high caffeine content
Ado that is a lot of money, I hope he can get disability soon
Dianah I hope you're able to get to the jam today
NJ22 glad the eye appointment went well
Had to outreach my boss as I found yesterday morning I had gotten 2 more new cases after I had left for the day. She had someone else take one of them, and the rest of the day was actually pretty reasonable. Meeting thankfully was short
After work went to the store, then came home and exercised and relaxed
Today leaving work early, get to leave at 2pm as a reward for helping multiple people earlier this month, before things got crazy. Have managed to keep the schedule light today, so that even if another new case arrives I should be OK
Nothing major planned after work, plan to use the time to do some cleaning and some shopping, so I won't have to do that over the weekend
Weather should be the same as yesterday, mid 50s, has been cloudy lately, would like to see the sun a bit more
