Good brrrrrmorning!
It is cloudy and 60 degrees.
Last night I turned out my light at 1:20 AM, so I am getting incrementally 'better' about turning out the light earlier than 2 AM. I did get the 'silverware' washed last night. And got Nannie's sheets and blankets back on her bed after a wash'n'dry of them. Will be getting her up momentarily, and I sure hope her bed isn't soaked this morning!
I have yet to know what I will be up to today.
I was going to say g'morning, but it's already 1 pm. I actually slept in until 10! That felt good. We had a nice dinner yesterday, and I had pumpkin pie for breaky. It was from costco, and I gotta say, not that great. Only 1 person took leftovers, so we have a ton of food. We gave the dogs some calming stuff, and they did pretty well. dh was up at 8 for a PT visit, and then he and youngest ds left to go shopping. I opted to stay home. I took the dogs for a nice long walk in the cool sunshine, and then tackled the dishes that didn't fit in the dishwasher last night. I think I'm going to veg for the rest of the day.
I need to think about gifts, but I am not good. dd says the grandsons like "experiences" better than stuff, but I'm been so unlucky with having things postponed or canceled, that I am loathe to do that. And I really don't want people to get me "stuff" while I'm trying to get rid of the stuff I already have. Speaking of which, I have a couple of boxes and bags to donate. And I'm going to sneak some things into the garbage while dh is gone today.

I need to think about gifts, but I am not good at coming up with anything original. dd says the grandsons like "experiences" better than stuff, but I'm been so unlucky with having things postponed or canceled, that I am loathe to do that. I've been puttering around; found some boxes up in the guest room, with more paperwork, receipts, etc, and searched through them, but so far no Ford title. Poked around in hubby's closet and did find some more gun-related stuff, and a box of ammo that is so heavy, I prayed I wouldn't pop a vertebra(e?) when I lifted it. But, no Ruger, so far, either. Maybe he sold it? Who knows! There's still some more stuff to go through, but I've done all I'm going to do today.
Hubby's dgt said she wants to have her Dad's pipe display-case (furniture that her husband built for my hubby as a Christmas present one year). It is very nicely made. I said she certainly could have it, as I am not interested in displaying all the pipes. I am not, however going to give her any of the pipes, as hubby told me some of them are in sets, and as such, worth some $$. (have I already told you all this?) Anyway, there are some odd/peculiar pipes I will keep and eventually display on a shelf, because I have a propensity for weird/peculiar things. I really wish the guy who owned the pipe shop up in Asheville still owned it; I know I could trust him to rightly price the pipes and even sell them for me in his shop; but he sold it and has retired. I am not going to trust just anybody to go through them without telling me their true value. Some are worth over several hundred+ dollars a pop. He had told me about them, but he never made an inventory list, and heck, who can remember details about the various makers and designs? Not me!
Nannie is taking her gape-mouthed-head-leaned-over-her-right-shoulder NAP. I'll wake her up when I turn on the news in an hour, and load her tray with T-Day leftovers.
G'day.
Was in charge today, no patients, but also no secretary on both sides so I did a lot of secretary work and that phone rang off the hook. Low census but heavy acuity.
Couple of patients had their gall bladders removed after sending them over the edge on Thanksgiving. Happens ever year. Soon it will be "fall from ladder putting up Christmas lights".
We had a patient who lived with her 36 year old grand daughter receive the news her grand daughter overdosed. So sad. She was to be discharged but we didn't until her daughter comes from out of state, so she won't have to go home alone to the house her daughter died.
Much to be thankful for.

Went out for a fairly long hike in the morning before going to my cousin's for Thanksgiving. There were only 7 of us, so it wasn't crowded at all but it was a bit quieter than usual. Things were more lively in the past when there were more people there. My cousin did most of the cooking herself this time, before she typically got most of it from the store
The rest of the day was fairly quiet. Came home and watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving along with the Mayflower episode from This is America Charlie Brown, like I usually do.
Today will be going downtown to the Christmas market again to get ornaments for my tiny tree. Plan to leave a bit earlier than last time, maybe I can dodge the crowds a bit. Will probably begin the online shopping for Christmas presents, although I have not yet heard back from my sister on what to get the niece and nephew
Fairly cold day today, high only in the mid 30s. By the weekend we might get some snow
