Good morning!
Nice picture Ado!
J22, sounds like a good day.
Stars, hope all is well with the gypsies.
I had an hour staff meeting today. I have PTO this week so really it's not extra time but just one hour less of PTO I'll use this week.
I've now spent the entire $500 dad gave me for my trip and birthday on groceries. Today I bought some water filters for my Brita and a few other things, and poof $500 gone.
I was going to make some American goulash today but don't have diced tomatoes and don't want to go out again. I'll make something else with the well stocked kitchen I have. Going to also make some sofrito using culantro.
Here's a pic I took last night. It's our dry season but we've been having rain this week and there's a storm in the distance. It actually got chilly in later in the evening from the rain cooled wind.
Tweety~ What a gorgeous photo! // My knee hasn't been officially diagnosed, but here's what gets me about it....it will go for WEEKS without hurting, and then during some days, twinges come when I get up out of bed, and then later they disappear! I do plan on seeing someone about injecting my left knee and left shoulder, but my "shot doctor" has moved to a practice way out in the horribly confusing city of Charlotte. It is also a dangerous city, which you see if you watch the local news. Freaky the # of people being shot at random! Malls, schools, streets, apartment complexes, parking lots of big-box stores. So, anyway, I'll have to see if the practice here which he treated me at has replaced him with a new "shot doctor".
I have wagged my finger at hubby about the Paxil; don't exactly know how long he's been out of it. I tried to impress upon him that suddenly stopping the Paxil is one of the WORST things he can do. He was out of the new BP med also, and I picked that up the other day, and after two days he could tell a difference in how he feels now that he is back on it. I will be giving him a few days worth of my Paxil 40's (he has the 10 mg ones) because he is supposed to take 50 mg/day. Hubby says he called Dr's office yesterday; but it still hasn't been faxed to the pharmacy. He says, I'll call the doc's office again in a few days.
Also, he did call the eye doc's office and the girl at the desk said they didn't have any appointments until November!!! I said to him, "NO WAY! Since you are diabetic, you HAVE TO be seen for any eye problems." I think he should call them again, NOT "in a few days", and tell them if they can't get him in sooner than November, it is time for another eye doctor! I told him he does NOT want to go blind. Why does he think nothing is going to happen to him?
I'm tired of talking about him!
Time for the network news, followed by another Braves game.
Hello all!
Joe, hope work was better today. I somehow thought you had been working at home, but I do realize that has changed (how long ago??). How long a lunch break are you allotted? Hope you have a good weekend.
Tweety, isn't it astonishing how quickly, how VERY quickly $500 disappears??? Hope your meeting-that-is-interrupting-your-PTO wasn't too bad. Gorgeous photo of the beach/ocean! What did you end up making instead of American goulash?
No Stars, hope you can find a new "shot doctor." You driving in Charlotte would be like me driving in Los Angeles. NOPE, UH-UH, NO Way! Hope your team wins tonight!
We just got back from a nice jam at the local bluegrass association campout. Others are camping, but dh doesn't want to. Lots of winds up there. Last time we camped, the winds scoured away the paint on the hood of the RV. It was already defective (bubbling up), but that wind was just what was needed to expose metal underneath! We engaged a friend to do a "wrap" to the hood, and it is stable. But dh doesn't want to go through THAT again. So we go up for the day. I will usually make a donation to the bluegrass association, in lieu of our camping there. Had a good time jamming in the afternoon, a little visiting but not a lot, as we were playing most of the time (turns out it was about four hours). There was lots of traffic on the way to the campground, a regional park in the high desert = Memorial Day traffic, going to Las Vegas. On the other hand, traffic coming home was sporifice and moved well.
Tomorrow we will have a Zoom call with the ds's. Sunday we will have band practice, for our August program at the bluegrass festival in Vista.
That's it from here! Have a good evening!

Tweety it could be some sort of rebound insomnia
Hi Stars
Ado I don't think I've seen one of those before
NJ22 sounds like a nice day
Yesterday was a little better at work, but had to cut lunch a bit short and stay an extra half hour. Today I'm determined not to stay late, so I might have to work through lunch or cut it short again, we'll see. I don't think it'll be as bad as the last 2 days but we do have 1 person out today
After work was fairly quiet. Did laundry and ran an errand or two. Texted J but did not mention getting together, I'll leave that up to him. Was going to exercise last night but staying late for work and laundry would've had me exercising too late, which can impact my sleep
Expecting a quiet night tonight, not sure what I'll do. Going to try a new overnight oatmeal recipe for the weekend, instead of my usual pastries. Have been working a lot harder on mindfulness recently, and I think it has been helping
Will be a bit warmer today, will get up to about 70
