Hubby DID talk to doc about all of the things I wanted him to. This morning he had to go to the Imaging Center (to see if they could 'work him in') and had a chest x-ray and belly x-ray. He will hear from the doc after he's had a chance to look at them. It is starting to sound like the pleura is what has fluid in it, and it prevents the lung from expanding fully. Not yet sure what the next step is, maybe an ultrasound, or maybe an appointment (or an admission?) to have the fluid drawn off. At least the problem is in the pipeline on it's way to a resolution, whatever that might be. He did get a script for Lasix to see if it would help get rid of some fluid.
Overcast today. Local weather-guy said last night that there will be 100% chance of rain today. It rained a bit late last night, but not the gullywasher they were predicting. It is merely threatening to rain, currently.
Hubby had to get up at 8 AM this morning, and I had also set my alarm so he wouldn't over-sleep his. He woke up just before they were set to go off, came in my room and turned my alarm off. He went up and down stairs a few times getting Nannie's breakfast and pills to her, then back upstairs and to the bathroom. He woke me up from there, saying, "Could you please get my emergency inhaler and bring it in here? I can't breathe." While I was doing that, we heard breaking glass down in the den.
Nannie had set her glass of cran-apple on her table, but mostly OFF her table, because of all the junk she has on it, which is why it crashed onto the floor. So I had to go downstairs and sop up the juice, then sweep the broken glass up. Hubby went down there just before he left and told her that her little table was no longer going to be a collection point for her all cards, photos, nail- implements, a pile of paper towels, and goodness only knows what else. She just mildly answered "Okay," without any fuss.
Hubby went out on a brief errand. I was out of milk and out of bananas and since that is my bedtime snack, it about killed me last night not to be able to have that glass of milk at bedtime. Anyway, when he came back he said, "That Lasix sure works fast. I took it just after I picked it up at the pharmacy and I have peed three times in two hours; It also seemed to break up some of the junk in my lungs. I feel a little better now." He said that both the pharmacist and I had told him "Don't take that pill at night!" and now he knows why! I don't know that it will get rid of the pleura's fluid ... but maybe? (to be cont'd)
I am going to have to go get some chux for Nannie's chair, which is covered with a cloth material. If she is going to be leaking the pee from her pullup and pad, through her britches, she is going to have to have a chux under her so the den won't begin to reek. Before I go to bed I will empty her trash bucket, re-load her pads and pullups beside the toilet, febreze her chair, and put a chux on its seat. She also has a habit of hanging up her damp/wet pants over the shower door, so they can dry and then she puts them on the next day! And in the AM, if we have been lucky enough to get her to pay attention to us at night when we say, "Put your pajamas on," I will be taking the pj bottoms she hangs up and put them in the wash. So, Pants Patrol will be my newest job. Could be worse.
Heard on the news last night that the gov't has said that J&J vaccine is responsible for some blood clots, and that the next booster in the Fall will have to be either of the other two vaccines. I don't know how long it would be after a vaccine shot that the blood clots might start to form, but I HOPE that the danger of developing them NOW, so long after the shot, is close to nil. If anyone has a 'chance' of developing blood clots, it would be Nannie, since all she does is sit in her chair for at least 20 hours a day. Only time she moves is to get up and go into the bathroom and back to her chair. She only spends usually 3-4 hours in bed before she's back in the recliner.
As usual when I post, it is siesta time in the den. In a few minutes hubby will wake up and say, "Well, have you girls decided what you want for supper?" I'm thinking that I will consume the left-overs collecting on the top shelf of the fridge. Hate to waste 'em, and it will save a tad of $, also. Hubby can go get something for himself and Nannie.
So, Happy Mother's Day tomorrow for all you mother's and muther's out there!
Outta here~
Good morning!
Happy Nurses Day!
Joe, sorry J is having such difficulties.
Stars, glad your husband feels better after the lasix. (Spell check wants that to say "Lassie")
I had an okay day but coworker was drowning a good deal of the day and I spent a lot of time helping her, starting an IV, giving meds, hanging blood. Just one of those days.
Off for four days now. ?
Hi, I’m posting from a campground about 10 miles from my house. I finally decided that I need to spend a night or two in it, to sort of get used the set up and how I want to store things. In 2 weeks the grandsons are going to come with us. I brought the dog and he is not happy, at all. I’m just curled up on the seat by the table, getting ready to ready my book. It’s a little damp for my liking for a walk. Dh will join us ( me and youngest ds) when he gets off work.
yep, lasix works pretty fast, and it lasts six hours, thus the name. I used to give it a lot, working with cardiac and pleural effusion pts.
my allergies are acting up again, causing a runny nose and sinus congestion. I think the weird tinnitus I had last week was caused by allergy congestion.
posting on my phone, so won’t do much more. Happy weekend folks
Ha! I say, HA!
We had 45 minutes of the local news which was, all 45 minutes, only about the Weather: Severe Thunder Storm Warnings and Possible Tornado Activity! We watched them explain everything on the computerized screens, we watched it change and grow and move. We saw the reports viewers had sent in of the sizes of hail stones, It was a very big to-do!
But SOMEHOW, once again, we HERE got so very little of it, it was laughable. We had some dark clouds, we had two rolls of thunder, and after a while we had 3 & 1/2 minutes of rain, starting thin and light, then pouring down thick and hard, at which point the sun came out and then the rain stopped.
Wheeeeeeeeee!

Tweety that must have been annoying
Pretty calm day at work, spent the end of the day helping some coworkers
Quiet evening too, stayed in and exercised
J has been having a lot of allergy issues (though I wonder if it might be an infection), so we're not getting together tonight or Sunday. We're going to be seeing a musical next Sunday so he wants to be well enough for that
Still in the 50s any rainy, although the rain should stop and temps should start rising on Sun
