Got up kind of late, even for me! Got Nannie dressed....this time with two jerseys and NO BUTTONS and NO SWEATER for her to fiddle with....all she has today are the sleeves to rearrange endlessly. Yesterday she kept pulling at her sweater, saying it was wrapped around her; yeah, it was, because she kept tugging at one side of it. Even after I changed her to a different sweater, she still fiddled with it so much, it also got twisted around her.
Yesterday I got some video on my cellphone of her knitting in her sleep....eyes closed and lots of hand and dramatic arm movements, so it was easy to figure out what she was doing, or thought she was doing! I did manage to keep from going insane, and that was on top of her talking inaudibly in her sleep, which I was able to ignore. At one point she had a LONG 'conversation'.... she was awake and explaining something to me. Couldn't understand very many of her words, it was a verbal tossed salad, and I did NOT ask for her to say again what I was not able to understand. .
This morning when I went into her bedroom, she was all the way over on the opposite side of the bed from where she usually sleeps; it was so weird, that at first I thought she had made up the bed on the one side, and had gotten up, but where was she?? I thought some of the covers were just heaped over to the other side of the bed, when I saw her head, and her legs were dangling over the other side of the bed. She had rolled over to the other side, covered herself with a lap-blanket, and, was sleeping on top of the sheets and blankets, and got the bedding wet in a totally different place! I just spread out the wet spots and turned the ceiling fan on high, to dry them out. I am not, not, NOT going to do any laundry today! So there!
Did get all the dishes washed last night, so that's good. Trash is out at the end of the driveway. I'll have to check in a while to see if it's been picked up, and then I can roll the bin back to beside the house.
Want to drive over to the bank and deposit the check BiL gave me yesterday, but whoooo knows if I will? I don't want to take her out for the ride, and I can't leave her here alone. She still keeps trying to get up from the recliner without putting the foot-rest down, so she is sitting with her full weight on it. It's gonna break one of these days, I just know it!
The winds are BIGLY and there are clouds and sunshine (which is, naturally, "so bright!", according to the 'meteorologist' I live with, who has marvelous powers of observation....) We are supposedly going to have an afternoon thunderstorm, but we were supposed to have one yesterday and never did.
Fridays always seem like Saturdays to me. That means I have THREE more days to get through before she goes back to daycare. Her cough, right now, is not junky, but I expect it will become so, as her lungs are doing their best to expel the irritations. She is NOT happy about coughing, but can't stop herself. or rather, her lungs, from doing their job! It would seem, however, that the promise of the 'old person's friend' is receding.
I feel pretty good right now. I didn't feel so achy and in pain as I did yesterday morning. The medicine and the moving around helped the pains fade after a few hours. I took the meds a few hours before I got up, so they have had time to do their thing!
Anyway, another day, another day.
Hi. Not much going on. I had the last golf lesson, at least of this session, last night. My sore heel had been feeling better, but it sort of flared up last night. So I've been staying off of it, mostly. I booked myself a facial for tomorrow, did some sweeping and dusting, repotted some plants. We may get a little rain tonight. The breeze is picking up, like it does as a weather system moves in.
2 of my adult children have jobs where they have gotten instructions on what to do if ICE approaches them on the job. That makes me so sad. One drives a school bus, and the other works for an organization that helps people find housing and get food.
I've been wondering if my ex SiL has been carrying his passport with him. He is half Mexican, and he has a Hispanic last name. Scary times. I guess it was providential that the grandkids have their mom's Northern European last name.
Hello!
I hope Nannie is soon recovered from her respiratory crud (and that YOU don't get it, No Stars!)
Safe travels, Joe, and let us know what-all you are doing/have done in Madison (old and new)!
nursej22, sorry to hear your heel pain has increased (after laying low for a bit). What do you do for it? Topical or PO? Are you going to continue with golf lessons (did you like it enough to continue, I should say!)? Enjoy your facial.
This week: Tuesday we walked over 13,000 steps at Disneyland, had a good time, as always, listening to bands, meeting ppl, and walking around. Wednesday I took the car in for its 30,000 mile check. AND, ended up trading it in for the 2025 version! Got a good trade-in price for the old version, and they had "employee pricing" and other incentives. It'll be a little more each month but I think we can handle it. Dh is out right now, figuring out how we will carry the instruments in it, as the second seat is no longer a bench seat but two captain's chairs instead -- which makes a huge difference when packing instruments so they are safe to travel.
Yesterday (Thurs) dh got HIS car serviced, and we think he FINALLY (after a year??) figured out what the glitch was that prevented his phone hooking up to serve as the navigation source. He has struggled with this -- sometimes it connects and syncs right up, other times it does NOT. And we had NO idea what the difference was! So, I hope this is now the end of the problems with THAT.
Today I visited the Cat Cafe, -- with three adorable kittens, and chatted with oldest ds. Then I got groceries for tomorrow's potluck at the memorial jam. Jam starts at 12, and potluck will be at 4. I am bringing cheeses/olives/veggies tray, with ranch dip on the side, and then another kind of dip and some ruffly chips. The second dip is one of my creations, LOL: Buffalo Dip! It is ranch dip, with Crystal hot sauce and apple cider vinegar added to taste, and it is (I think!) delicious with potato chips! I will probably bring a sandwich for me to eat, in case there is not much low-carb stuff to eat (I have a low-carb bread I will use).
We will have soup tonight for supper (fresh from the freezer, LOL)!
Have a good evening!

Stars that was a good idea, don't want that infection she has spreading
NJ22 glad there was a good turnout for the picnic
Work was not bad yesterday, although not quite as quiet as I had expected. Would have been quieter if I hadn't needed to be on the phone with IT again, as the previous problems had improved but hadn't gone away. They said again that it was my internet provider, they sent someone out who made some adjustments that helped, though the issue still hasn't gone away. We'll see how things go, hopefully they've improved enough that no additional repair is required
After work went to a happy hour event with the gay group. They did a kind of musical bingo at this event, interesting although I wasn't familiar with most of the music
Today will head to Madison in the morning, once I've gotten ready and packed a few more things. Have a few things planned but no set schedule, only a 1 day trip to I tend to stay flexible. Will do some different things than when I was there last
Will be in the upper 50s today, think 60s by tomorrow. The rain should mostly hold off.
