NJ22 sorry to hear about your sister's fall, I'm glad to hear that the staff are good

Stars it was entirely reasonable to buy that new vacuum, and I'm glad that he's finally filled his meds

Tweety that seems to happen a lot there, people having to leave suddenly during a shift

Ado I'm glad you were able  to beat the storm

Work was busier yesterday,  not crazy busy but wasn't

Will be cooler today, up to about 70, no rain expected

I was in the kitchen making supper. Nannie apparently climbed out of her recliner without using the remote to make the footrest go down. I came down to the den with her supper tray, and she was in her bedroom trying to make her bed. She forgets that I always air it out. I said, "Whatever possessed you to get up and do housework?" Her answer? "Well, I was hungry." I had just told her I'd be bringing her supper down in just a minute. She didn't get up to go use the bathroom, though, and she can't see her bed from where she sits in the recliner, so, I dunno. Then, she had wrapped up three fingernail files in several paper towels, and couldn't find them. (two of which have no more 'sand' left on them and are therefore useless for filing nails.) She won't let me trim her nails, and they grow so long they snap partway off, but she won't do anything about the claws except wait until they come off. She has once again re-arranged the little table beside her chair. I reckon pretty soon she'll be hunting for the things she's moved elsewhere.

Okay, well, THEN when I came back down to the den to get her supper tray. I found she had taken the towel I put over her chest (to keep stains off her blouse)and she wrapped up the paper plate in the towel!  I said, "What did you do that for?" And she said, "I couldn't eat it." But ....she had eaten every scrap of supper and dessert. I had to toss the towel in the wash because it had lasagne 'juice' (tomato sauce)all over it , but just as I was doing that she told me "You don't have to throw that away." ? Oh my, and I don't think there is even a full moon!

Pretty soon I will turn the TV for the news and then to the baseball game (we won last night, I think it was 5-2.) I hope hubby doesn't start talking back to the news announcers or poking Nannie's shoulder with his index finger and saying, "Isn't it time for you to go to bed yet?" He does this to her at least 8 times or more, per evening. She gets irritated (who wouldn't?) and says that no, it is not time for her to go to bed yet. At 10 PM I told her it IS now time for her to go to bed. She told me she was trying to watch the show on TV....So I said, "Show's over." and she wanted to know how I could tell. (!???) I guess I am a genius...or a jenius? Like, she thinks the commercials (which I mute out) are still part of the program, and even though half the time she can't tell you what she is watching, she does manage to tell us what is going on, like how the people in the commercial are connected to the show. But then when we see a commercial that runs many times during the course of the evening, she'll say "Why does he/she keep doing that?" as if each commercial is made separately each time, from the last (same exact) commercial. Try to explain that.... and that 'those people' in a particular ad who "look funny"...look that way because they are 'drawn' using a computer and are more cartoon-y looking than 'real' looking. I could tell her it's because some purple owls flew into a phone line and she would give me the same look she does when I tell her what/why for real. Anyway, never mind.

Hope Angus is doing well.

Now Nannie thinks the 'close call' at an airport, involving Delta and American Airlines, was being celebrated. ??? She thought that, because the airport story was followed by the report of Juneteenth. I had to tell her that the airplanes and the colorfully dressed folks beating on drums and dancing had NOTHING to do with each other. EGADS!

Hi. Just got home from the hospital. Sis's surgery to insert a rod into her femur went well. She is feeling much better and now her leg is straight! I didn't stay long so she can catch up on her sleep. The surgeon said maybe 2 more days in hospital, so she can work with PT. The vet called me to check on Angus! and to see if I had been able to move up the echo. Nope, it's still next Wednesday. She is tapering down the Lasix. I didn't tell her I skipped last night's midnight dose. He seems to be sleeping more comfortably now, but still wanders and stares into space. I don't think I've seen his nubby little tail wiggle in 2 weeks. Sigh. I am hand feeding him bits of chicken, tuna and cooked egg. He won't take rice or any vegetables.

Annie, that seems like a loooog drive. I hope the storms are avoiding you.

Good evening!

J22, glad the surgery went well.  The miserable pain of every spasm or movement should be over.  Hope she does well with therapy.  Glad the staff is treating her well.  Hope Angus is comfortable and well.

Joe, hope you had a good day.

Yes, a good deal of the PCTs around where I work are awful and they hate nurses.  One floated to us today that notoriously lazy but for some reason she did her job.  Must have been talked to.   Rumor has it one of the lazy night shift techs is about to be fired, but because she's playing the "favoritism" card as the reason she walked out on the job mid-shift once, HR seems to be covering their tracks before they fire her...if they do.

Work today sucked, but when does it not.  LOL
