Good morning!
Hope the vacation plans get finalized. Vacations are not supposed to be stressful.
Stars, hope no-name is doing well.
Yep, me calling of work is a rarity. Last call off was sometime in 2023. Nice that a couple of coworkers have texted to check on me if I need anything.
We'll be in the triple digits "feels like" temps today as well.
I texted my PCP through the portal to bring her into the conversation and let her know it's been 12 days of symptoms. She texted back asking if it was bloody. No advice yet, but at least she's aware. Only took 30 minutes to get back to me and portal says to give her 48 hours.
My toilet lever broke a week or so ago and I got a replacement on Amazon and doesn't fit right so I asked for a refund and return it. They gave me a full refund and said no need to return it. It was only $20. But I went to Lowes to make sure I could get the right one and found one for $10. So I made $10 on the deal. Works just fine. LOL
Going to get a new mailbox outside my door because the one I have is rusted and isn't pleasing with some of the new stuff like the roof, painting and gutter work. Sad thing is I have to pay someone to do it. He said he was coming at 8:00 and text me he would be here by 9:30 and it's 9:30. Here we go again. I'm thinking he'll come through because it's TaskRabbit and they rely on reviews and recommendations from others and he doesn't want a bad review. But just please do what you're going to say. It's a small job I know but still.....
Anyway, called off today and hopefully as the weekend progresses will see some improvement. I don't mind staying the course without antibiotics but we'll see what my doctor says.
Thanks for listening.
Update. Doc is going to start me on an antibiotic since it's been so long and the guy 98 minutes late is here putting up the mailbox. Should be easy for him to do, expensive for me. LOL
I have to go to the grocery store to stock up on all the things we constantly run out of. Am undecided about whether to leave "TINKER" at home or attempt to do it with her accompanying me,
The guy's wife (the guy who rescued the dog) said she just called the dog Tinky-Winky, which SiL really liked, I didn't like the 'winky' part, but I remembered my mother's nickname in nursing school was 'Tink' and/or 'Tinker.' Seems like another one of those synchronistic (sp?) things occurring around this pup. So she can be Tinker, with whatever anyone wants to tack on the end of that, like TinkerBELL, or like Jimmy Durante's song "Hink a-dinka-doo" ....Tinker doo? Anyway, I guess Tink or Tinker is what we will use, and the dog and I will get used to it. I'd better, because I still call her Momo sometimes. It's like my mother used to call me by my sister's name and then add my name onto that like we were each a hyphenated child. She did the same with my sister, calling her by my name and following with her real name. She did that with our husband's names too. 😊
Okay, gettin' late. Time to get dressed and go do something that needs doing.
Hello all,
An official "Welcome" to Tinker!! Glad she is settling in so nicely!
Joe, I agree, it's kinda late to be making major vacation plan changes!
Tweety, w00t, you get a new mailbox to match your spiffy house! I hope the Abx do the trick, sorry it's been so rough for you.
Yesterday we picked up oldest ds and drove to Downtown Disney. We walked around for almost an hour, went through the Lego store and the Star Wars store, then met youngest ds and dil for Din Tai Fung food! Wow, what a menu and it was all delicious! The restaurant itself is architecturally impressive, though we found it quite noisy. But it was all ppl enjoying their company and the food, so it was OK. It was the first time we'd had Xiao Long Bao (we had the chicken ones), and they were scrumptious! Seaweed salad, spicy noodles, cucumber salad, garlic-roasted green beans, --- it was all so good! And, it was good to be with "the kids"! Youngest ds and dil had been traveling most of the day; they landed in LAX at 5pm, got their rental car, and drove one hour to the restaurant. They have a hotel room about 7 miles away, and oldest will stay with them so they can attend a concert this weekend. He will likely take the train back home on Monday. It's a nice break for them, and though they play D and D weekly together online, it's a chance to visit IRL.
That's it from here! Have a good day and evening!

Tweety I hope you feel better soon
Dianah I do still have my current reservation
Stars I hope they can find a more reliable caregiver
Ado that's my cousin's idea, not sure it will work out
NJ22 my sister and her family like to use those options, me not so much
Yesterday was not bad at work, steady without anything unexpected. Hoping for the same today
After work was busy, had a haircut, then exercise, then a Zoom meeting with the political group that ran late.
Today heading into the city to attend a concert with my friend B, thankfully it looks like it will not rain tonight. Will try to leave right after work so I can arrive at the concert with some time to spare
Have not heard back from my cousin since Monday, I'm kind of hoping she drops this idea of changing up the vacations plans, it would be too difficult to do at this point
Will be cooler today, low 80s with some rain in the afternoon
