Huh. I thought I posted this morning, but maybe I didn't OR maybe it was on the wrong date/page. I'm having slick spots in my brain these days. Too much manure in my wheelbarrow, doncha know.
Had my nails done, picked up meds at pharmacy, both of which take time, especially due to other people ahead of me. When I got home, hubby was sitting in the Ford. I guess he had been drinking and then took a nap; he knew where I was going when I left the house this morning. But as I got out of my car he woke up and said, "Where have you been?" I showed him my nails, and he said, "It takes this long to get your nails done?" ..."No, I went to the pharmacy to pick up your medicine, and had to wait for them to fill it." // When he's been drinking and says something to me, he always sounds cross. I doubt he thinks I'm out messing around, but whenever I go somewhere he thinks it takes me too long. Like yesterday when it took 20 minutes to go about 2 miles, bumper to bumper. Nothin' I could do about that! I HATE getting those phone calls: "Where ARE you?" ? {-----Oh, I'm on a plane headed to Brazil-------} ?
2:18 PM and the Siesta Twins are doing their snoring-duet here in the den. I haven't got anything else to add, except hubby did call and get an appt w/ the eye doc on Tuesday the 26th.
99 degrees right now. Dh and I both had a lull in sleep last night, so were awake from 3:30-6:30. Slept in a little. Yesterday we decided we needed a drip system with a timer set up to our huge garden (total of three plants: bell pepper, basil, and cherry tomato). So we got a kit at Lowe's and got it home and set up. Timer didn't work.
I drove to Lowe's and swapped it out for another one (we had already configured the drip system). That one didn't work either. We decided to leave it to "fix" today. After we got up, we we returned to Lowe's to continue the Saga of Setting Up A Drip System With A Timer.
Got a different brand of timer. Also got a pressure regulator, as we almost blew out the garden hose we'd bought -- even though the water was barely turned on -- with the back pressure from the drip system. To three plants.
Got a more heavy-duty hose. Got it all home, and studied how to set the timer. Dh got everything attached to the faucet (mind you, again - it's 99 degrees out there): pressure regulator, timer, hose, drip configuration. Dh turns it on, it works! Well, it drips. But the water is HOT. Hose is black, and it's 99 degrees (did I tell you it's 99 degrees??) out. Did a Google search: it's OK to water with hot water, just keep the crown and roots cool. So we re-position the drippers farther from the plant itself.
So, for my little experiment in keeping a few vegetable plants, -- as I told dh, "The first tomato is a $200 tomato!!" (by the time all was said and done) We are not particularly skilled, nor do we have much gardening experience. Guess it shows. Oh well. I appreciate dh being willing to help out, two heads being better than one!
So, that's our saga (so far). Oh, and today the dryer started making knocking noises. It has made some squeaking noises in the past. Today it started knocking. It is pretty old. I called it in to our home service, and they asked if the screen was giving any error messages? Ummmmmm, no, it is pre-screen technology! It is THAT OLD. No error messages. Just knocking. So, we have a repair person coming out a week from Monday (they could make it Monday but we will be away for the day, so I requested a week from Monday).
Hope you all have a good day!

J22 sorry about your back. Bet being home in your own bed will fix that.
Stars, kudos on the weight loss.
Joe hope you have had a good day and evening out.
I survived working three in a row and an overtime shift this week. No overtime next week and am off for four days.
ENJOY your time off!!
In our backyard early tonight we had the usual squirrels and chipmunks and birds, The humming birds fought and chased so much, for so long, really ALL day! I wonder if they even had time to sip something from the feeder! Then a doe came up and nibbled a while. It took off when I went to put out fresh water and more corn/peanuts. The next time I looked out, I thought I was seeing a beautiful cat, but when it turned its head sideways, I could see the snout. Then it came out into the yard and started eating the peanuts/corn (!). It was a very small grey fox with a humongously fluffy tail. Very alert to every little thing, but it did sit quietly a few times. I wanted to just go up and snuggle it, but didn't want to be treated for bites. Gosh, it was so darn CUTE!
Braves won tonight 9 - 0. ? They were playing the Chicago White Sox.
Time for getting back into the Robert Ludlum paperback: The Osterman Weekend; close to the end. (The butler did not do it.) I have 4 more paperbacks, and then I'll bring them back to the Battered Women's Shelter Store 'n git me sum MORE reading material. If it's in front of me and there are words written on it, I GOTTA read it. Not a bad "'addiction". Thankfully it doesn't keep me on my laptop all the time. I'm more of a printed paper page, whilst having a pen, some paper, and a pair of scissors (for magazines) because snipping things from newspapers and magazines and sending them to people----what can I say, it is a Family Tradition: My mother, her dad, sometimes my sister, and me. Once upon a time I kept a file folder in which to save certain things to friends and co-workers and other people. They told me they used to say, "Well, better make a cup of coffee: it's time to sit down.....Stars has sent us another envelope full of cartoons, clippings and snippets." Ah, those were the daze. ?
Hey, how good am I at stopping the posts and then adding another paragraph or two!? ? Good night! For real this time!

After work did the laundry and exercised and drove around a bit and looked at some more storm damage, mostly just trees down
Tonight after work might check out a local bar I've heard good things about
Going to be a warmer day in the upper 80s, with rain expected
