Stars hope the gypsies go away.  Glad they got the car unstuck

Tweety glad the trip is going good

Hi Crunch

Work was a little busier than expected but not bad, had time to help with other stuff at the end of the day.  Counseling was a bit aggravating as I don't think a point I was trying to make was understood.  But I managed to calm my irritation, I figure I can address this issue next week

After work was pretty quiet.  Stopped briefly at the store and exercised.  Took some time to reflect on why I'm entering the dating game again and what I'm looking for.  Surprisingly I had not really thought about it in depth before, so I figured I better do that now.  Have a better idea now of what I'm looking for

Today have the day off.  Started some bread, which I'm planning to bring tomorrow for the next potluck with the gay group.  Other than that will do some bird watching if the rain holds off, but other than that nothing planned

Will get up to about 40 again although the rain may start again this afternoon

Supposed to get up to the mid-70's today (!) with 57% chance of rain, but the sun keeps wanting to peep out  But so far, it hasn't stuck around and the clouds prevail. Rain is also predicted for the next 3 days and the temps will drop by 10 degrees or so on each of those next 3 days. Roller Coaster temps!

Sort of half woke up with a belly ache earlier; turned onto my left side and it eased some. Later on I woke up again and the stomach had slowed to a dull, quiet roar. When I got up, I was greeted with that lower back and right hip pain, and the front of my thighs just ached and ached, from groins to knees.  Tossed down my meds, Fed Momo down in the den, and then made a cup of coffee and came back upstairs and got back in bed, now waiting for the gypsies to bend to the will of my medicines. I would love to just curl up and go back to sleep for a few more hours, however the responsible adult in me nags that it will be time to get Nannie up within the next hour or so.

What will I be doing today? I know I do have to wash the dishes in the sink. It is amazing to me how Nannie's juice glasses and spoons, and my coffee cups, and the dogs dishes accumulate so quickly. I also need to launder MY clothing. If Nannie naps like a good ol' girl should, maybe I can go into my old bedroom and unsnarl the piles of mess in there. Donate, save, toss....the usual; but hope It is not as horrific as it looks to me right now and I will get a visible result after a little while of applying myself to the task. Though I am not entirely sure that is what I will be doing....'cause y'know I have a habit of laying out my 'plans'....and then going with plans B, C, or D.  I just am not made to be a house-wife, the whole thing bores me to tears, endlessly clawing my way through the house, attempting to call forth some tidiness. MEH! But I DO love my 'new' room and I am making it a habit of putting things back where they belong instead of tossing things on the floor as I was in the habit of doing. I mean, I DO have dresser drawers and a bigger closet now!

Almost through with my coffee, and will get up shortly and get dressed. If the gypsies are still murmuring, I will put on a few lidocaine patches and a lower-back/hip capsaicin wrap. I am glad I have them because they really do help ease the aches and pains. I sometimes wish I could take a couple of hydracodone (sp?) ....but for the pain, the relief, only lasts about two hours. I do like how it relaxes me, but that's not why it is prescribed, so OH WELL! And I do not want to become habituated to it, so OH WELL again.

I can't believe it will be February soon. Time alternately whizzes by and drags on at the same time.

Good morning. I would so like to go back to bed, after a rough night of sleep, but the dogs are being quite rowdy. They got really quiet about 30 minutes ago, and my phone rang. My sweet neighbor had just caught one of the dogs in her yard. The little beasts had slipped out a gate that was left open. Grr. They were so muddy from running through the vegetable garden space. dh and I are going to a movie, later.

I was supposed to do an online Bird ID class last night, but it got canceled. Oh well. I cooked some salmon for dh last night, and for once, it wasn't overcooked. I mixed mayo, dijon mustard, a little maple syrup and cilantro, then spread it on the salmon and baked it. I eat fish so Im a little nervous to cook it, but dh said it was good.

Im going for a little jog, shortly. Weather continues 45-50, gray, with showers. The news was making a big deal about the sun will set at 5 today.

Good to see Tweety made it to India without any travel hiccups.

Hi Joe! Is that the no-knead bread you made before?

Stars, no wonder you are aching, with having to spend the afternoon at the store. I can walk or hike all day, but if I have to stand in one place for more than a few minutes, my back tightens up and my feet go to sleep.

My clutter battle never seems to end, but I live with someone who puts nothing away, never closes a door (or gate) and never turns off a light. Sigh. So I need to slurp down the rest of my coffee and get moving.

If you can believe this: #1.) It only took me two tries to get through to the local SSA office, and 2.) I talked with a real, live person! And, 3.) After all that sweating and waiting to get ALL the blankity-blank documents together, come to find out---- ALL I need to do is put our marriage certificate and our names and SS#'s on a piece of paper in a sealed envelope and put it in the drop box at their local office before Feb. 14th, which is when an representative will phone me at 11 AM, and we can do the whole process right there and then.

Is that not weird after all the BS I had to go through with the various bureaucracies to collect all the documents I supposedly needed? GADS!

Oh well, it is what it is, and now maybe I can get that big extra $100/month by getting hubby's SS check. But I am thankful it will be in the pipeline and eventually I will be getting the larger amount. $100/month more is certainly better than nothing and then maybe I won't sweat so much about bills.

WHEW!!!?YAY!

Tweety, I'm glad you're having a good trip so far. Looking forward to pictures at some point!

It is 45 degrees and raining here. Rained all day, and the water is getting deep-ish in places. No "turn around don't drown" warnings yet, but they're comin'. I've been spoiled to typically warm-and-sunny Oklahoma and this is depressing.

Followed up with the vet for Darby. No need for the US of her spleen; there was a clot in the sample that caused her platelets to be really low but it's almost certainly because of the clot. So for a 15-yr-old dog she's in pretty good shape except for heart failure. I know Hubs was expecting that I was going to have her "put down" but at this point I'm going to try the medications they offered. If we can improve her cardiac output and relieve her pain, maybe it will improve her mental status and willingness to assume the potty position when it's time for that. We shall see. But that was more $$$ that I really shouldn't afford. And giving a dubiously continent dog Lasix is ... going to be interesting. Hopefully not the straw that ends a 35 year marriage!

Hubs called the insurance company the other day and they said the adjuster would call him but so far hasn't. Hubs wanted me to call and this is the 3rd day in a row that I haven't got that done.

I finished the CMS submissions, now just need to make sure we're up-to-date with reporting employee vaccination rates.
