Dianah that will be nice to see them

Stars I tend to get nervous too when taking the cat to the vet

Tweety hope you're still feeling OK

NJ22 glad the roofing and electrical work are done

Hi  Ado

Work was busy, decided to skip lunch, which had to be cut short anyway due to counseling.  Did a lot but did manage to leave on time.  Hope today is quieter but someone is off so there may be extra work

The good news is the car stuff is done.  Took about 2-3 hours but got the car bought and the financing and such taken care of.  Was pleased to find the fees and interest rate were lower than expected, and the trade in value higher than expected.  The only annoyance was my insurance company, which raised my rates a bit more after telling them about the new car.  Oh well, was planning to change insurance anyway

Now to do all the other things for my car...in addition to the new insurance I need a new village sticker, some of those strips to attach the toll transponder to the windshield, an appointment to have the car checked out, and maybe an alarm system as well.  Hopefully can get all of that done in a few weeks

After work should be quieter than yesterday, though I still have to stop at the store and library.  Also hope to get some of  the above tasks done too

Weather is going to be in the mid 40s, will rain most of the day

Momo impressed everyone with her cuteness and being so well-behaved and mellow during her Vet exam and nail trim. The vet says she is very healthy, but needs to lose 2 lbs. he told me how to wean her food a little at a time. I won't be getting her spayed until she's lost the weight. He said he did recommend spaying even at her age; he showed me a picture in a veterinary textbook, of a dog's uterus filled with pus!  ? He said they had a lady with a 12 year old dog she did not want spayed, and that dog became quite sick as the bacteria infected the uterus and blood stream, and she had to put the dog down. Anyway, Mo got some drops for her itchy left ear, and the vet said since she is hard to pill, he suggests using a grater to powder the (flea/heartworm,etc) pill, and mix it with her supper. I think it is a great idea, but if that pill smells 'funny' to her she may not eat her supper. Or I can break it into little pieces and give them to her in a coating of butter, which won't exactly help with her losing weight, but I'd rather have a fat dog than not be able to keep her flea-less. Ah, once a month of some butter dabs won't make her balloon up. But I'll try grating the pill tonight.

SiL is coming over Tuesday after 3 PM to give me some time off. Wonder what I can do? Prolly go to KIA and have them see to the darn "low-tire" icon light on the dash. Then I'll get to drive all the way home in rush hour traffic. But, it's gotta be done. Won't that be fun?

I've decided I am going to move into hubby's room; there is more space in the room, and the closet, and there is a dresser in there! I am going to dismantle the double bed frame and put my own bed in there. I already know how I am going to arrange it! Now I am excited! When I get through cleaning that room, I can take the bed apart myself, but I will need some 'muscle' to help me move the dresser across the room, move my platform bed, and file cabinet (wooden/4 drawers). Gonna take down Nannie's framed needlework . She does beautiful work, but decorating with them isn't my style. I am much more eclectic than I am matchy-matchy.

Up to the kitchen to toss a pizza in the oven----

Afternoon. I've been baking some trial recipes of goodies that dh wants to include in his gift baskets he likes to give out.  I made some peanut butter oatmeal cookies that were pretty easy and quick, but dh thought they were too small. Huh? Then I made some chocolate scones that were very messy to make and had way too many chocolate chips for my taste. And I thought they were too big. But dh liked them. And lastly, I made some vanilla blueberry scones that were good. dh wants them iced, but I pointed out that is hard to package without getting messy.

The gutter people came today, the electrical inspector approved the work done yesterday. The fireplace is repaired. Apparently there is a component in the fireplace that takes batteries that I had no idea about. So $200 to switch out 4 AA batteries. MiL is going to be in hospital 1 more night. dh stopped to see her and said her color is better, but she's still tired. Her phone rang 3 times in the 15 minutes he stood there. He told her to unplug it, but she won't turn off her cell. I'm sure she's gotten steroids while there, and that makes it hard to rest, too.

Dianah, good thought on mailing the gifts so your family doesn't have to tote them home.

I am a little miffed with our insurance company too. In the 40 years we've been homeowners, we've only made 1 other claim, but now they are not sure we need all the repairs that the tradespeople are recommending. grr.

Weather has warmed up to 45, and rain, so no bike ride today.

NoStars, perhaps Nannie's family would like the needlework?

Joe, hope you had a good day.

Glad Momo behaved herself.

J22, hope you get authorized.

They did me dirty and pulled me from being a charge with no patients to our other side and gave me four ER admissions back to back.  I don't mind taking patients but this was piss poor planning to pull me at 8:00 when they good have had something set up at the beginning of the shift.  Bleh.
