Got up at 8 AM to get Nannie dressed and ready to go. Now BiL has picked her up to transport her to the daycare ctr. He also has to go to CVS to pick up some of those jumbo 3X TENA pads that absorb almost all of her overnight pee and mostly keeps the bed from getting wet. (Well, that and the chux).
I'm sitting in the den feeling groggy and having coffee. Will have to go pick up one of my refills, and Nannie's usual yogurt, cran-juice, puddings, cookies she seems to always be running out of, and we also need more paper plates.
Hope to get that done fairly early so I can have the remainder of the day to do as I please. SiL had offered to go get Nannie today on her way home from her ABC store job. I had second thoughts and told her I will go get Nannie at 5 PM, because 3:30 or 4 PM is too early to have her be returned home. I want as much time without her here as I can possibly get!
Last night, in order not to have to cook and most especially to not do the dishes waiting in the sink....I ordered out for large pizza and boneless, nekkid chicken wings with Ranch on the side. It costs an awful lot these days for that....$36,52 and that's without a tip! YIKES! But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. So aside from the few errands I REALLY DO have to wash the dishes TODAY!
I am still too stunned from being up after 4 + 1/2 hours sleep, so I am going to grab another cup of coffee and see if I can rev myself up a little bit more.
Good morning!
I got talked into going to a breakfast for people nominated for the "Nurse Excellence Award" that I was going to skip. Just a nominee for the hospital, there's a bigger organizational prize but our hospital has never had a person win in the five years we've been part of them. One of the two finalists (not me) from my facility is a nurse on my floor. He stands a good chance. Anyway, it was a nice breakfast and I'm glad I went. Just had food and met with some of the executives.
The painters that painted my ceiling and missed a stain and some popcorn ceiling came back today and made it right. They need to come again on Monday and finish it up when it dries. It seems I just can't get closure on the saga from the hurricane that was six months ago. The roofer has one little corner they missed and still have failed to come back and fix it.
Best friend was here and after they left mocked me for being so nice. "They messed up and you are thanking them for showing up." Well they really are nice guys and I'm not that person. Actually these days when people show up when they say they are that's worthy of a thank you to me.
Anyway, one day off and will go to yoga today instead of my usual days and get ready for the weekend to come.
Hello all!
Today is Recovery Day, after walking at the parks on Thursday. We caught some good bands, watched a Spiderman little acrobatic section, watched ppl come down two water rides, to scream as they got soaked at the end of the Big Drop. The flowers are beautiful, as always, around the parks. I ended up with NO blisters or sores on my feet, yay! I was just tired, for I didn't sleep well Wednesday night. I sure slept well last night, though!
Today I have a load of laundry in, and have survived a trip to the grocery store and another errand. We are watching the eaglets, who are learning to self-feed (after Mama or Papa brings in a fish). Hold it with your talons, then rip the meat off with your beak!
We were planning to help with music at the Apple Blossom festival in Oak Glen this weekend, but it has been postponed to next weekend, as rain/possible snow/cold weather is forecast for both days. We should probably practice some music anyway, to keep up calluses!
Have a good evening!
Last night I was sitting in bed, reading, and Momo was stretched out alongside my hip and thigh. I let out with a tremendously loud and unrestrained sneeze. Momo's little body jumped 1/2 inch all over. Then she slowly turned and looked at me over the shoulder as if saying, "Was that really necessary?" Then she sighed with a snort, and stretched back out and lay her head down. THEN, she used both her hind legs to punch my hip sharply. I said "I'm sorry!" and then I had to laugh. It was quite comical, maybe not for her, but it tickled me a LOT! 😂🤣
It was a genuine Canine Editorial Comment!

NJ22 hope the PT or the podiatrist helps
Tweety glad work was OK
Work wasn't bad, busier than expected due to a new case and working with IT on some computer issues. Rest of the day was pretty quiet, had a Zoom meeting, did some laundry and ran an errand or two. Was feeling rather down in the morning, I think it was related to the migraine I had earlier
Feeling better now. Should be a pretty ordinary day. Will do some cleaning after work but otherwise should be fairly quiet
Going to be cooler today, in the low 60s
