I recently applied to FCC's nursing program but I'm just confused on the selection process. I see/hear a lot of conflicting information about how they actually go about it. even the website kind of confused me. do they do 100% lottery system or points based & lottery? if anyone knows it would really help me out. I took my TEAS really late (Jan 11) so im kinda only left with community colleges this cycle.

so there's 10 days left and still no one has heard anything?🥲

I'm thinking we're gonna actually start getting emails this week, but we'll see ig.

If anyone calls for an update tomorrow or hears anything, share it here please

Hopefully the APA division can send out an update if the time frame passes the 10th.
the 10th is my birthday, it's either going to be a celebration or a cry fest 😆

I don't think it'll go after the 10th! They have to understand we all have to know by a certain date to confirm for other schools too, but I think they'll wait until the very last day to notify most

They had over 2k apps, they're probably so overwhelmed and understand that they have a lot of people waiting on them. Everyone involved is probably so stressed out LOL but it does feel reassuring knowing no one has heard back because it means there is hope for us 💕

Oh my god. Is the 2k+ number confirmed?

Yes. It's exciting to know there is alot of use wanting to be nurses in this much needed service.

I'm not sure about confirmed, however, when I spoke to a trio stem counselor she stated to me that expected applications are at minimum 2k so maybe more or less but around that ball park

I don't think it's 2k. My friend called the APA division last week and said there were roughly 600 applicants, but then again, they might not be telling her the truth.

Oh man! That's still quite a big batch to go through. They're verifying everything especially since 100 is merit based and the other 100 is lottery but still has to be verified

so much goes into it all I'm glad I don't have that job 😛

Haha Yes. I believe that, given the small pool of people this time around, they may be taking their time reviewing each applicant.
