Either meet with a counselor (or whatever version of “meeting” is during COVID), you can also check them along side the course catalog, I’ve never gone to a counselor unless I had a hold, the course catalog is never wrong! I did meet with a counselor (and still got mixed answers because I’m a 2nd degree student and APA said if you hold a bachelors you don’t need PE and normal counselors say I do... so ??‍♀️)

That’s another one I need is PE, which I think is hilarious, I haven’t had PE since I was a sophomore in HS ? I think at West Hills you only have to do PE if your 21 and younger ??‍♀️ I live on the coast and have done majority of my pre reqs at Cuesta and they don’t require either one of those classes and actually they have a pre-nursing degree which I’ve already earned. I’ve been trying to get into Cuesta since 2015, but soooo competitive. Praying I get into FCC. ??

I thought FCC and many other schools only accept the very first attempt at the TEAS? I do know for a fact Modesto JC will allow as many retakes as a student wants to get a higher score.

I would drive if I have too! I'm going to work really hard this next year to re-apply to as many programs as possible and retake the TEAS. ?

Guys! I'm so upset and have been crying. I spoke with a counselor before I applied and she even filled out the criteria form for me. She said I met the requirements. Can anyone give me some insight on this. ? Back to square 1. Now I'm going to look into every route possible . LVN..SJVC...National.. retaking the TEAS...everything. I can't stop crying.

I’m so sorry....! ? When I met with the counselor, she mentioned I was off by one pt. Needed 50. I had to either retake a class or retake the TEAS! When I got home I recalculated my sci and non-sci and she missed calculated my non-sci. I earned more pts and met the 50pts. I was so glad I rechecked because I would had retaken a course! This whole process is just frustrating...

It means even though you meet the minimum you didn’t score enough points to meet the lotto, it’s a little screwy because the point values are not set out for our viewing and the only way you got the inside scoop is when Mrs. H did a presentation for the Allied Health Club.

What is your GPA and TEAS score? Did you turn in any special circumstance documents or have a medical field related license/certification or another degree? I think you need 50 points and a lot of them can be earned with the TEAS.

Here’s a rough point breakdown, where it says DSPS, all special circumstances fall under that category.

So sorry, KindKimono. It really sucks when you have already sat down with a counselor and the info you were given wasn't accurate. Sometimes, it's good to check again with a different counselor or even ask the question again. Fcc only requires a 62% on the TEAS but that will be OK if the student has a really good GPA in the prereqs/ science classes. The most points come from the TEAS and Prereqs/Science classes. For example: you scored a 62% and got 35pts on the TEAS, your Prereqs GPA is 4.0 and you got the max points from your GPA to add up to 50 pts then you're eligible. Or the other way, if you scored 90 on the TEAS, your GPA won't matter much anymore because 90 would be 50 pts and you're eligible as long as your cumulative GPA is 2.5+. Best of luck to you in other programs and retake the TEAS then try again.

anyone else LOTTO tab still pending??

Thank you for all that information. My TEAS was 66 and my GPA was 3.4. I'm going to do alot of research so I can apply to multiple programs for this next application period this time next year. I plan to now start studying again yo retake the TEAS. Imngoing to message Mrs. HOFF as it suggested and see if she can give me any pointers on what she thinks my best option is. I'm really really sad. I'm sure everyone is who didn't get in. I really wanted to see the light at the end of the tunnel and hope I'd get in to move on with my life and get out of a personal situation. I'll keep praying for strength and guidance ?

Is yours?

Mine is still complete and pending; no lotto tab?

For this year mult-criteria, do you remember counselor mentioning you get 5pts if your TEAS reading score was 50% or higher under national %?  My counselor mentioned this, I hope this is accurate... sigh...

It is frustrating. I wish the counselor I spoke with would have told me that my score wasn't high enough to apply. I peob barely missed the cut off.. Especially when counselors are there to help you and give u misinformation. That's awesome u didn't have to retake any courses. Are u still pending?
