Hi guys, I just wanted to start a forum of the application period for 2019-2020 and see who applied and how many times and what not. Also who got in and what not and just to reach out for advice. So we are all kept up to date with each other! My status still says pending so I'm hoping that changes within the next week!

lol ! im hoping that just a few people that got into SJVC get in somewhere else lol im keeping my fingers crossed just because its closer and id be done faster lol.. my email says "first list" so im assuming that's pretty close lol so im trying to stay positive bc I know regardless people are bound to drop.. (hopefully) lol . but yes if you get in, you better tell them that that is MY spot! ?
During the application workshop in January, they had 700 applications already. She also said that there were 650 applicants last year.
My status is still pending. They go through them alphabetically. I hope to hear something soon. My birthday was yesterday. This would be the gift of my lifetime.

they probably assumed that’s how many they were going to get. My birthday is this week to so I’m praying as well
random question.. does anyone know how they determine who's eligible for the lottery? is it everyone that turns in all the required documents or do they have a certain point cut off.. just curious because in the app packet it said points were rewarded for certain things but im wondering where those points are going to.

Hey liv13197!
So those points are used to see if your application can be reviewed. It’s kinda like the chancellors formula (manadorty 80% minimum) that some other colleges use to determine if your application can be reviewed. Once you’ve hit the points required then they’ll start looking at your documents to see if you’re then eligible for the lottery. Hope this helps ?
