Has anyone heard of Frequent Daytime Urination Syndrome or Pollakiuria? I have had a handful of first graders go through a "phase" when they have the sensation that they have to urinate every 5-10 minutes or so. Some of them have been evaluated by a doctor to rule out UTI or Diabetes. The "phase" seems to last up to a couple of months. Has anything helped decrease the frequency of trips to the bathroom in your experiences?
Did a bit of research and it is due to stress and tension. Are all of these kids in the same classroom? Same teacher? Same bus? I'd look for what is causing all of the stress and tension. What is going on at recess?
