Wow, I was looking at the website, and it sounds like it would be such an amazing experience! I've always thought the OR was cool, and it's one of the areas of nursing I'm thinking of pursuing (although really... I don't have any idea what I'll end up doing once I graduate!!) I wish I could go! But unfortunately, the date is a bit of a problem... kinda is the last week of classes for us, when everything is due, and all our evaluations happen.
Maybe next year?

Dang, I just got my brochure for AORN Congress, which will be held March 21-25 in San Diego.
Registration for operating room nurses for the week is $415 (and that's with our membership discount--)
BUT STUDENT RNs are invited to attend FOR FREE!!!!! For the entire week!! And there are educational and social events planned just for the students. Of course, they are allowed in ALL the events, not just the student-oriented ones.
I hope that any student nurse who is even remotely interested in operating room nursing gets a chance to attend--you may just find your "niche" as a result of the experience.
Call AORN customer service at 1-800-755-2676 Ext. 1, or go to http://www.aorn.org/congress
Boy, I don't EVER remember getting anything free when I was a student
