Freaking out

Published

I am really nervous now. I am reviewing topics that I missed on the ATI Assessment Practice ! test and it is so much. I am starting with the Science portion because I scored worse there and I am trying to studying the information and it is so much random information. How can I remember all of this. I am afraid I have not retained much from my classes. I got 50% on the science. I found some practice teas test at teaspracticetest.com and uniontestprep.com. And I got 50% of the Science. Am I in big trouble here? Or it will get better as I continue to study. I am so scared to take the actual TEAS V test. I know I'm just getting started but this has me worried!

I need

Reading 75

Math 72

Science 63

English 70

I got

Reading 81

Math 83

Science 50

English 60

My test day is January 25, I have 2 weeks and 3 days. I will start my Anatomy and Physiology II on January 11. So I will have to study for TEAS V and my class. I am just needed to vent so more about this TEAS V exam. Anybody else testing in January and how are you doing?

I, too, take my TEAS on January 25th. I'm sooo nervous! I've studied for about 5 weeks, and I'm still not doing great in Science. I've watched YouTube videos, and it has helped. Good luck to you!

Good luck to you too! I know the science is kicking my butt too. I am taking practice teas test to get more practice. The questions are so random it is hard to know what the topic will be.

I am taking the TEAS on Monday. I have gone through the entire manual. I am solid on math and based on the advice I have read on the boards here I believe I can do well on the science portion IF I keep calm and go in with a clear head. For some reason I stumble on reading tests, I overthink them!! Always been that way. Tomorrow is my last full study day and I plan to not cram before my 1 pm test time Monday. I hope we all do well this month!!

Good luck Hello_14! It sounds like you should be ready for the test tomorrow. Keep us posted on how you do and I will post my results too.

I am the same as you Hello_14 I totally overthink the reading parts! It isn't as clear cut as science and math. Good luck!

I just got back from my test! Overall, I did much better than I thought I would. Especially since I only studied 1 day. I got 93% reading, 93% math, 60% science :(, and 80% English and Language use. For math, I studied from this website: https://uniontestprep.com/teas/study-guide/mathematics/pages/1

Know how to do everything on here and you're in great shape! No surprises there. Science was just all over the place, I got a 4.0 in all my sciences, but there was just too much to remember. I'd suggest looking over as much science as you can... Some of the questions were super easy and simple concepts, but other ones were like, "How the hell am I supposed to remember that?" I'm considering retaking it since now I know I need to focus on science. Good luck to you all and it's really not as bad as you think it'll be. Worst case scenario, take it again.

Congratulations Annienelson! So the science was tough! I just got my TEAS V Study guide today and I start studying the Science portion. I will focus on Science first. Then Math and English. I will do Reading last because I scored pretty good on assessment test A. I will just keep studying and then go for it! I hope not to take it again.

Hello Annie,

So you're saying that only studied for one day? Also, did you only study from the practice exams on the website? Thanks for the link, it's really helping me. I have my TEAS on the 19th and I just started studying.

I highly recommend using "Secrets of the TEAS V". It's a large yellow-covered book that you can get on Amazon.

I, too, had less than a month to study for my TEAS V, and this book was a HUGE part of my feeling prepared for the test. It breaks the four subjects down to smaller sections, AND (and this is major help!) they have a website where you can enter the code from your book and you can watch as many of their videos explaining further the content you just read in the book!! Extremely helpful!!

Also, their practice tests (I think there are four free ones per subject) are helpful because the sections have the same number of questions as the actual test, so you get used to constant question after question in one topic for the set period of time. Now, I will say that I found some of their questions were easier than the test, BUT the content I learned from them definitely made a difference in my score! (I passed, btw, and am now a nursing school newbie!)

Also, use a TEAS V prep app. Most are free, but if you have to pay a few $, it's worth it to get one that *gives the reasoning as to WHY the correct answer is the correct answer.*. That way, you can learn more and and be better prepared! :-) Good Luck!! :-)

Congratulations on nursing school! And thank you for the helpful information. I just spent $115 for Teas V study guide and $86 to take the exam. So I am not in position to buy any other materials right now. I hope that these materials will be sufficient. I am going to take another assessment test on the ATI testing website. (Assessment B). I am studying the study guide now. Well I hope I get this the first time out.
