Hey everyone! So..... Im freaking out. I cant concentrate on anything. I have one month before school starts and already I feel behind:uhoh3:
I like knowing what Iam going to be doing,I love outlines, I love being prepared. I am going over A&P and dosage calcs becuase I've heard if you dont get 100% on dosage calcs, some schools kick you out. I want this so bad, but maybe Im in over my head. Is it normal to be doubtful this soon... like before you even start?
I think what is really bumming me out is that I have posted and search all over the Alaska nursing school forum and Alaska nurses forum and nobody writes back.... The forums are DEAD!! lol. I would love to get information from current and previous students, but to no avail:crying2: I sort of want to go by the school tomorrow and stalk the students!! lol. I know I am doing too much.... Grrrr.
I thought the stress would subside once I got the letter, at least till school starts. I dont know why I think I need to know EVERYTHING before school starts. My program requires you to have: A&p I,II- Chemistry-English Comp-Micro-Nutrition-Lifespan and be a CNA. Im seeing students on this board talking about having these classes integrated in the program.... So if mine wants it prior, do you think they want us to know all these inside and out? I think that is my problem also. Im trying to review EVERYTHING but I dont know WHAT to review. UGH!! my husband thinks this is funny..... but Im stressed here!!!
HELP!!!

Relax. Take a deep breath. I've always been told that nursing school is never what you expect and I definitely found that to be true.
Yes, some schools do want students to have all pre-reqs and such done before starting. It's mostly because nursing school is hard enough as it is without having to worry about a bunch of other classes. I would hardly think you would be expected to know all that stuff inside and out. Frankly, I've forgotten tons of that stuff and I've done just fine in nursing. I have one more semester!
Don't stress ahead of time because you'll have plenty of opportunities to do it later! But remember, nursing school is completely doable.
Good luck!
Crazier than you- Thank you for responding:)
Im trying not to freak out but it's hard... But I understand where you are coming from. Thousands upon thosands of people have traveled this path and they did fine. It's just nerves (as my grandma would say).
Once again thank you.
