Freaked out by my recruiter

Hey everyone, I signed up with a new company I really like. Awesome benefits, decent pay, and contracts in the areas I want. Well I posted a quote for a pay package on a FB travel nurse group asking for pointers to negotiate. I suck at negotiating and I can be a push over. I wanted all the help I could get before I spoke to my recruiter about it.

I didn't post the company or hospital in my post, but did reply to someone's question with my company name. Well my recruiter texted me within 1 hour of that saying he got word I was posting pay on FB ad I need to call him right away to discuss. At that point I was at work and didn't call. I'm freaked out. Someone from my company obviously told my recruiter and this feels like big brother.

I never signed a contract or a non disclosure, so I know I'm allowed to post pay.

I have to call him today and I have no clue what to do or say.

No need to be scared!! Recruiters are good at intimidating you into taking their packages and going with their company, but the bottom line is that they need you more than you need them. Just tell them you're trying to get advice. They cannot penalize you in any way. If you don't feel comfortable with your recruiter but want to stay with the company, ask to switch recruiters. Chances are lots of other agencies can offer the same positions at the same hospital, no need to stick with one.

Facebook is like a public megaphone that not only lets the world know your every random thought, but identifies you by name. Don't say anything there that you wouldn't want someone to hear. That includes recruiters, patients, and hospitals. Your post here can now be tied back to your FB post and so your pseudonym is also breached and your recruiter has likely read this as well.

Dont like to negotiate but want fair pay? Sign up with several agencies and compare offers.

I don't really care that they know this is me or what I'm saying. I just find it creepy some random person is telling him within 30 minutes and then tries to make me feel bad for asking advice on fair pay.

Per gsa.Gov the max stipend is $900/week. But he says the be st he can do is $825. How does everyone get the max stipend?

Everyone doesn't get the max GSA stipend. There are tax consequences on stipends to the agency. Every agency has guidelines they follow internally to avoid IRS intervention. If that is important to you, again, your best bet is to shop around. Technically, negotiating tax free reimbursements is illegal and while there is generally no paper trail, the IRS can establish it if every traveler is being compensated differently. Nothing for you to worry about, it is an agency thing. Just explaining why you are experiencing it.
