Anyone else applying for the Spring 2025 cohort?

For what it is worth, I've spoken with multiple students with good things to say. Tobe hasn't responded to me either. Just my 2 cents

Same, this is the first I've heard of anything negative so far about this program and I've spoken to numerous people that are either students or know people that were students. I ended up deciding to go ahead and accept. There will be pros and cons about every program (& the attrition rate in comparison to other schools is kinda nerve wracking & does show area for improvement, although the same could be said about any program for different reasons), but this program has seemed to be the best out of all of the ones I have considered thus far in terms of caring faculty & student feedback

Does anyone by chance know when we might hear about getting off waitlist? Also the people who were waitlisted were y'all given any information on how to improve your application?

My guess is after Aug 26th. that is  the deadline for people who were accepted to pay and secure their spot. From there it'll just be as they move down the waitlist. I've heard of people getting in just a few days before school starts. I did email asking for feedback but didn't get a response LOL.

Okay perfect! I also didn't receive any feedback after getting waitlisted!

Did you email and ask? I'm not surprised they didn't tell me anything. I've heard/read most places won't if you're waitlisted- only if you're denied.

Good day everyone, I'm looking to apply for the program this year and wanted to ask you guys some questions. can anyone please tell me what the casper assessment looked like? (was it clinical questions or EI questions and how many questions total?). Also, how was the interview like? was it more of clinical, EI or a mixture of both? I would really appreciate it if anyone could respond. Thanks.

Hey Evelyn,

The CASPER assessment website does a pretty good job of explaining the format and even has a few practice scenarios to do before taking the real thing. I would recommend looking over all of this and searching "CASPER assessment reddit" and reading the post "Guide to doing well on CASPer". That does a much better job explaining the theory and strategy behind it than I could. In short, it's an emotional intelligence test that is more about answering how it wants you to answer than what you might think is reasonable or even how a normal human behaves. It's probably more useful for pointing out bad seeds than finding who is a good apple. As far as the in-person interview goes, it's a mix of clinical and EI. My best advice is to 100% be yourself, answer the EI questions with confidence and some humility. Know the answer to basic questions like "Why do you want to be a CRNA?" Much like many other programs, the clinical part is about how much you choose to share. Be honest about the types of patients you care for often, and be prepared to speak to your practice. What meds do you give? Why do you give them? How much do you give? How do you know they are working? Why would you not want to give that med? What comorbidities do they have? How do those affect their care plan? These are a few examples. Also, be prepared to go down a rabbit hole of questions until you no longer know the answer. Don't try to fake knowing at that point; instead, admit it and think of a way to get to the answer, like thinking through the anatomy or how your other knowledge on the subject might nudge you towards the answer. At the end of the day, if you get an interview, they're already interested, and you just gotta be yourself and know that if it's meant to be, it'll happen! Good luck!
