That was a great run down! I have been a nurse for one year in February in Jacksonville (I work at Baptist) and that is very accurate from the research I have done. It is very good to know your options and what each hospital is offering new nurses. Also, I am a BSN graduate and I appreciate the BSN diff being included on the run down. Hospitals just don't pay enough for the extra trauma that I went through...lol THANKS!

Also...Baptist gives an extra $125 bonus for every 16 hours a nurse does over her scheduled 72. The bonus sometimes helps to compensate for the low pay.

This is so awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this!

also, does anyone know of any jax hospitals that allow new grads to work part-time?

That was very helpful thanks!!

Anyone have anything to add, 2.5 years later?

No, sorry I work in Miami now.

The only thing I can add is that I believe Baptist's new RN rate (or maybe GN rate, not sure) is $20.50 an hour. They have no GN program in effect and are only hiring GN's internally.

That is true. Alot of the GN programs are on hold now. One of my colleagues gave that exact list to her students about two years ago --before the recession
