I had briefly looked into this program and was scared away by the $26k tuition and 72% pass rate on the PN NCLEX from last year. My local Cy-Fair LVN program had a $3k price tag with a 100% pass rate, so it looked like a better deal. But where ever you go, the program will be intense, hard work!
Best of luck with the program -- keep us posted on how it goes. Probably not too many people are familiar with Fortis, so you'll be the one to let us all know!

i graduated from fortis in december. i just passed my nclex! however, i would say it had very little to do with anything they did. the school was VERY DISORGANIZED from the beginning, not having enough teachers...the same one man and the DON taught every class the first term. which made for several late starts, and SEVERAL hours spent doing nothing but sitting in an empty classroom. and it never got any better, i spent my entire pediatric clinicals doing nothing but sitting in a room in the school, and they still made it manditory to be there 8 hours a day. having said that, i used the school as a stepping to stone to obtain my license and move forward. i had to do all of the learning on my own because all the teachers did was either read straight from a power point all day, or have us read to them out of the text book. there were several days that students showed up to clinicals only to find no instructor, and i had to drive two hours every day to the clinical site, only to be told to go back to the school. if you are going to this school, you have to learn how to adapt and not expect ANYTHING from the school itself except excuses. only 8 people in my whole class that started with 30 passed the program. I am glad that i did it because i did achieve my goal. but i would never ever suggest this school to anyone.
be ready to do everything for yourself and try not to expect too much. it will be hard work as anything should be in a nursing program, but the difference is....the school will do nothing to help you, or even meet minimal expectations. good luck! i did pass my nclex, after teaching myself from the books.

I'm
Moving to Houston in march of next year and I plan on going to Fortis for the lvn program BUT now
I'm not so sure. Can anyone tell me what days and times are the clinicals or does it vary??? And also where can I find a study guide for the hessi exam? By reading the comment how the school is disorganized I'm really not sure about going. Are there any tips or pointers for going to Fortis??? Anything information would be a big help.
