Hi! A nurse came to talk to my class about forensic nursing, and I was wondering about it. Any suggestions on professional organizations or schools/training programs that could give me more information concerning 1) how you become a forensic nurse and 2) a look at what they do on a daily basis, would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

My name is Kelly and I am currently a nursing student in AZ. I am pursuing a career into forensic nursing. I have done a little research and what I have found out is they require you to be an RN for 5 years and then you can get your SANE certification (Sexual assault Nurse examiner). I am currently taking some forensic classes at my college and they are very interesting. I figured it would give me some insight on the subject. My instructer works at the Phoenix crime lab and he said a good way to get some experience is to volunteer at the local rape/domestic violence shelters.
Does anyone have any other information they would like to share?
