Any drive from Queen Creek is a commute, traffic is horrible. As for the hospital I can't say I have heard anyhthing bad or good about it. Which can be a good thing. I've lived in Queen Creek area for 8 years traffic should be getting better over the next year,when they fix the roads. Hope you like it here. Welcome! I know this reply might be a little late, but hopefully you hung in there still. I can't believe the treatment you are getting. I have been a clinical preceptor for a few years now with Reanl Care Group (which was just bought by FMC) And We have an extensive training program. It is 10 weeks of class and clinical time and then you are allowwed another week with the preceptor if needed. I does take a while to learn the machines. Use notecards if you have to. Anyway, I'm sorry about your experience. Hopefully it is better. We need as much help as we can get in dialysis. Kelly in AZ

I'm not looking forward to the commute either, but I've done worse. I has GCC as my last choice. I already waited 2 semesters, so I figured if I at least get in, then I can worry about a transfer. I'm hoping to talk to someone today after orientation to see how to go about putting in for a transfer. I did a test drive out to the school last week and it's really not that bad. 54 miles/one way. My husband used to drive it everyday for work. I only have to do it 3 days a week. I got my clinicals at MMC, so it is not as far. Maybe I'll meet you today. ItalianRN, I found the Psych book, but just recently. So I'm sure the bookstore has it by now. Are you in the full or part time program? I'm in the full time.

Hi, Sorry I didn't get back to you right away, Ive been trying to work extra hours until school starts. I'm currently bidding on a pharm book on EBAY and winning and it comes with the study guide too. I have my calculate book coming in the mail. I just need to find one of those nice wheeled packs to carry all these books in! Have you seen them at a reasonable price anywhere? With Christmas all the stores were such a mess I didn't really look. Hope you had a nice holiday. Maybe I'll see you around. Kelly

Must be nice to not have to take all those extra classes anymore. Oh well, at least we are in now. But if this was the case I would have been done by now!

I've lived in Queen Creek area for the last 8 years. I'm just east of the city limits. The traffic is bad here right now, but they are making improvements. They are going to start building a hospital in 07 and there are alot more grocery stores and strip malls on the way. I really like it out here, just the summers are a little too hot. I was trying to buy the rest of my books and I was wondering about some of the editions. I left a message at the school, but no one has called me back. The pharmacology, is it the 4th or 5th ed. we need? and Calculate with confidence 3rd or 4th? When I log onto the school bookstore it is showing different than the paper I received with my packet. What change? I bought the 7th ed. Do we need a newer one? There were some books I could not find. I guess the new editions are not out yet? I bought all the ones I could find. Are you going to buy any of the optional ones? I bought successful test taking, that is my weakness. I figured that would help me. I figured I would wait until the classes started before I buy too many of the optional ones. Sometimes the instructors will recommend things, Ya know? Keli, did you get the assignment turned in? I bought a bunch of my books through the GCC bookstore used, they were cheaper than any site on the internet. I checked almost all of them and they were still a couple dollars cheaper. I called the school the other day to make sure they recieved everything I faxed to them and they said they have it all, but they have not registered anyone into the classes yet. That is why it doesn't show up online yet. It just says you are registered, but do not have any classes at this time. Hope every one has a nice Thanksgiving, I'm just happy we do not have class!! I noticed some of you were asking about PDA'S before. There is a website. www.skyscape.com that sells them with medical downloads in them. There is one for 199.00 that has Outlines in clinical medicine, AHFS dosing companion, ICD-9 coding reference, and archimedes medical calculator. I thought it was a pretty good deal. You can also purchase other downloads form amazon.com at a pretty good price. Just wanted to share the info. Kelly

I just spoke with someone at the Nursing office @ GCC about the math class Section 3312 that is offered for the full-time students and the time is 12:30-400PM. They said the time was changed after the flyer was made. So if you have the flyer that says 8-12 it is wrong.

I have a question about info in the packets. On the fulltime checklist it has the math class on 1/12-1/13 at 12:30-4pm. But then there was a separate flyer that shows the class being 1/12-1/13 800-1200pm And they have the same section number. So what time is the class?
