Thanx for all your replies ladies. What do you guys think of Queen creek area? Is it as "nice" as Gilbert and Chandler? It seems the housing prices are so much cheaper in Queen Creek.

San Bernardino & Inland Empire RNs!
Thanx for your reply nursemoonchild. I am interviewing next month @ LLUMC and I'm quite nervous. Glad to hear that it's a supportive env't. Wow...that is quite a commute so I can see that it must be a good place to work. Alot of time when there is a big hospital system like this, things tend to be very disorganized and confusing. Do you feel that way about LLUMC? Or is there good communication between the various departments, especially from top to down. Thanx!

Med/Surgical experience required to become Manager?
Calling all managers. I'm going to graduate with my BSN in 6 months and I know I do not want to go in to med/surge. My goal is unit manager/DON and I like OR nursing, my question is: Is it imperative to to have experience in med/surge to become manager, or does any nursing experience suffice?

How early should I apply for jobs after graduation?
Hi everyone. I am new to the Allnurse community. :balloons: I was hoping someone could give me some pointers in: When should I begin to apply for jobs? The reason I ask is because I'm actually on the East coast right now for nursing school but I will be moving to S. Cali (San Bernardino area) as soon as I graduate in May. Should I call around now to ask about job availabily or focus on moving & passing boards and THEN apply jobs? I'm not sure how the job market is out there. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY ADVICE! P.S. Do hospitals offer positions before you graduate?
