I've always wanted to work as a nurse in India, either volunteer or paid job. How does an American nurse go about getting licensed/certified to work as a nurse in India? I noticed most nurses in India have Bachelors of Science degree, I'm an RN, but I'm a graduate of an approved diploma program, no degree. I have 36 yrs experience, ICU, ER,Tele, etc, but am also worried my age is against me(57). Is it possible for me to even work there, and if so, what are the requirements for licensure?

Typically a BSN is needed for licensure in other countries.

volunteers usually don't need to be licensed there. They just go, work for their three weeks or whatever and go home.
