Foreign Nursing Agencies

Published

Dear All,

I would like to know if any of you have had good experiences with foreign recruitment agencies. I would like to go to the US in the not too distant future.

Hi :welcome:

I am with Pacifichealth I am very pleased with all they have done & are doing. I hope to be in my new job in the next few months.

They only offer work in Los Angeles or Orange county in California so if thats where you want to go I can highly recomend them, they are a small family agency so you always get to talk to the same person. They advertise in the RCN or you can find their website at pacifichealth.com.

Thanx ukrn2ca. I will look up that wbesite. How did you pass the nclex? Are there any books that you can recommend?

i used the lippencott review with cd-rom, the kaplan international with cd-rom, & the princeton review with cd-rom, i also took the 3 week on line course with the www.ncsb.org (you get redirected to) www.learningext.com to find the course you need, but it's worth checking out the ncsb for info if you haven't done that already. if you do book an on-line course try to do it when you have some time off work, i took 2 weeks annual leave so i could get the full benifit of the course i did it after going through the books & just a few weeks before the nclex test. i found the lippencott to be the most helpful i probably didn't need the kaplan but the other 2 were very useful if you do the whole book cover to cover. i would say the on line course is a must if you are rusty or know very little about all areas of nursing (eg, peads, mental health, midwifery, ault) i also used some drug books in addition as this was my weak spot, i had kaplan flip-o-matic & mosby's pharmacology note cards, they are also good for learning the names & the differences in drugs they use over there, i'm still reading them in preperation for the move so i know what they are talking about when i'm asked to give a shot of demerol (meperidine) or a couple of tylenol(acetaminophen):uhoh3: at least now i have some idea of what they should be used for:lol2:

hope this is helpful:typing
