Foreign nurse looking for work in ny

Which state do you actually have a license in? Asking since you did not know anything about the CVS, and that is required to get a license in NY. And that is going to take you about 8 months at the minimum to get done. At least that is what has been the minimum, some have been more that a year.

We have not seen a hospital petition a foreign nurse unless they have had significant experience or trained for their RN in NY. The facilities do not want to wait for the immigration process, especially with the retrogression in place and that is for all RNs. There is no way to get around that and we do not know when it will end. So that also makes it even harder.

With a green card in hand, no problems getting a job there, but needing to be petitioned, and it is almost impossible.

Suggest that you take the time to read some of the threads here on the same topic. There are quite a few already.

As what i've read from other threads, only nursing homes are willing to petition in NY... You can find some answers in other threads... Good Luck!
