Forced Hand in Nursing Path Choice

Published

Through no fault of anyone's, I and my family will have to relocate to Dallas next Fall (Sept 2020). Problem was that I was taking Anatomy 1 this summer to start nursing school in Jan. I don't want the hassle of being halfway through school and having to move. I also didn't want to waste a year doing nothing. My solution is to take Anatomy 1 this summer and EMT-Basic with it. Then roll right into Paramedic school from Aug 19 to Aug 20.

I don't know if it's a smart plan, but I do know there are a few community colleges offering Paramedic to ADN programs that are a year long (Jan 20 to Dec 20). And if I am gonna be moving why not move with something completed? I missed out on applying to LVN programs starting in Summer 19.

It's saddening because I had a specific program I wanted to attend here in Houston. Oh well...
