Recently I heard our hospital will be forcing everyone to get a flu shot or they will have to wear a mask for their entire shift. I have had a reaction to it and usually just boost my immune system during flu season and this works well. I was told that even if we have had a reaction in the past and still don't get it, we wear a mask. This does not sit well with many of us at the hospital. Was wondering if others have experienced this and what they did.
I have seen GB syndrome once in 10 years on pediatric ICU nursing. That child walked out of the hospital when it was all over. I can't count (more than 20-30 maybe) the number of infants or immunocompromised children I have see die from vaccine preventable diseases. I'm not even talking about the ones who just got sick or ended up on ventilators for a few weeks. I'm talking post-mortem care on a 3 week old because someone somewhere didn't want to get a flu shot. Read the side effect list for Tylenol or your multivitamin. Everything is risk vs benefit.

You could not or would not? If you don't read it I can't help that. But I would think the headline alone would have put your confusion to rest, The Boer concentration camps of the South African War, 1900–1902.
I just put key words into Google, trying to find any connection between what you remember having to do with guards and inmates in concentration camps and measles outbreaks, with prisoners faring much better than the guards. Anything at all, and all I could come up with was multiple websites talking about the same 1900's incident I posted for you. Nothing on WWII, poorly clothed poorly fed inmates surviving measles at a higher rate than the guards. You were asked by another member to come up with the source of what seemed like some screwy information, and I understand if you can't, or don't know all the details, but since I gave you what looks like the details you were missing, you shouldn't be annoyed with me if you don't even read it.
