The Commuter,

I am addressing this question to you specifically because I know you know the Fort Worth area. I am moving that way in June and am interested in nursing homes specifically for the 8 hour shifts. What is the pay like for RN's? Where are some good NH or rehabs to work per diem in? Are you working double shifts in a hospital, because that may be an option for me. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

This question is for ANYONE at this point.

Thanks, Shan

I can't help you other than that - I'm in California. :D

Sorry. . .I didn't see this post much earlier. Since I now spend half of my time in Oklahoma (away from computers), some posts skip my attention.

Based on my experiences, RNs who work at Fort Worth-area nursing homes will earn between $23 and $30 hourly, with the average being about $25 or $26 per hour.

I currently work 16-hour weekend double shifts at a nursing home in downtown Fort Worth, which enables me to have Monday through Friday off to attend school full-time.

Send me a PM if you want specific names of good places to work. Or, since this thread is old, maybe you've already settled into a place.
