Following up with recruiter after X amount of time?

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm a new grad RN, and I recently interviewed at a small private hospital in nyc, on July 16. July 24 a recruiter contacted me and asked me to send in my references, and asked me to submit a formal application for the full-time position (the same job I interviewed for). I sent everything in on July 26, and I am still waiting to hear back now, Aug 7. Since I'm a new grad, I have no idea how the timeline of these applications are in nyc, and I don't know how long it is normal to wait before hearing back. I only found one forum for this hospital, where everyone said after they sent in their references they received an offer.

I guess I'm asking if there's a certain point where I should email her and ask if there are any updates? Are there any nurses from nyc that have any advice or experience with long application processes? I'll appreciate anything, I just really don't know anything about it. Thank you so much!

go ahead and email, it won't hurt anything. Just understand that sometimes in nursing world, the wheels turn slow. I'll cross my fingers for you!

Hi, I sent the email yesterday and today she emailed saying to give her a call- when I did she said that they need my license information and then they'll be making a job offer email! I'm ecstatic, thank you for the advice.
