FNP school? graduating BSN now

Nursing Students NP Students

hey everyone, new to this site and this discussion. Im graduating with my BSN in december. I would like to get right in to school again and try not to get tied into a paycheck and paying loans off right away. Im a bit confusedd on the FNP track and how to go about it. Im a male, 23 years old with a solid academic record. Is there any advice on the best way to getting right in school? Also, what is this MSN vs. FNP? are they not both masters? Thanks

You get a Master's degree (MSN) and while in your program you pick you concentration ie FNP, NNP, PNP, ACNP, etc. Most Master's programs have all graduate level nursing students take the same general education classes and then branch off into their specialty classes.

If you are up for going on for your MSN program right away, I say go for it. However you might want to also apply for a part-time RN job.

so MSN is a must first? no fastracks like entry level to BSN...Im at Nova Southeastern U and they are begining the FNP here they are pretty foggy on the details thanks.

Um no. You will have a Master's degree in Nursing with your concentration in being a nurse practitioner. Your degree would say something along the line of "Master's degree of Science with a concentration in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner."
