FNP Program University of Maryland Fall 2013

Just checking to see if anyone out there applied for the FNP Program for the Fall of 2013 at University of Maryland and if you have been contacted for an interview.

Did you recieve a call too? Congrats !!!

Hi Roxxy--congrats on getting in! I did receive my official notice online that I was not accepted which wasn't too much of a surprise at this point. It just wasn't in the cards for me to start quite yet. My friend who is in the program described the instructors as "really nice" and "cool", so I'm sure you will really enjoy the program.

Babyrn- I did receive a call this afternoon from one of the professors, she left a voicemail and said letters would probably be going out tomorrow

I'm sorry wkirn, you sound like a great applicant. At this point I wonder if I even have a chance? I'm still commitee ready:-/

Ill keep you posted if I hear something. My GPA was 3.79... My interview okay... But I felt like I didn't get tons of feedback. Stressful!!

Again, don't give up hope. You got an interview which is a huge step towards admittance. The way that you felt during the interview is typical and I know others who felt this same way and got in. I'm not sure if you would be intersted in this, but if you don't hear by close to closing time there, why don't you give them a call? You could mention that you know of other applicants who received notice of their status and that you were checking to see if they could provide any information on yours as well. I really hope that you hear something today and think that they will probably want to finish the FNP applicants up by today as well.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm still at committee ready. I called and was transferred to Mikki Coleman and left a voicemail. I'm hoping to hear back. I would like to have some sort of feedback because I will be applying to other schools next year and am not sure where I'm coming up short-- was it GPA, experience only in L&D, my interview, etc? I have no idea!!

I agree with wkirn. I felt ok leaving the interview but not great, I think that's fairly normal. Hoping you hear good news soon.

Have you heard anything babyrn? It seems like notifications spanned over a week or so with admissions decisions in previous threads. Thinking of you!

Do they give you a number? I am sure they admit at least a few wait listed individuals. Stay positive and keep us updated!

No online it only says wait listed. I emailed them last week and they said all letters go out this week so I'm hoping the letter will give more info..

I got my letter, which basically says I could be pulled from the wait list anytime between now & the start of the program. No number is given...I sent an email, but no response yet. If I don't get in, that's it for the MSN program at UMD & the DNP program would be the only option.

Roxy.. Does your letter give you any sort of deadline for accepting/declining? Thanks!
