I have an Air Force reserve base close to my house and have been wondering if I get a job there after I graduate in December with my FNP, will I be qualified to get their loan repayment program? I have a few family members who have been in the Army and Air Force but I don't understand how it works. if I work that the reserves, I wouldn't have to go anywhere else right?

If you are a reservist you could qualify. But not if you're a civilian employee working on a reserve base.

And just to clarify, please understand that even in the reserves, you CAN be called up to deploy.
It can and does happen. Please don't join thinking "I'll never have to go anywhere." If deployment is an issue, perhaps another avenue to loan repayment would be a better fit.

Hi NurseBee,
There are non-military loan repayment options also, if you're willing to work for a year or two in an underserved area.
