UF BSN 2018

U.S.A. Florida

I wanted to start a thread for UF Traditional BSN 2018 since applications open tomorrow. Who is applying??

Hi guys ! I am a transfer student applying to UF BSN 2018. I am graduating this semester with my AA and all my pre-reqs done. I am really nervous about UF because I know it is a highly competitive school but the program is so great I am going to apply and do my best.

I am going to share my stats for you guys

GPA: 3. 45

Pre-Req GPA: 3. 40

TEAS: 87%

I also work in the ER of a hospital as a Medical Scribe for almost a year now and I have done study abroad for health sciences and health care community service in 4 different countries...hopefully this helps my chances of getting accepted. My GPA is lower than I would like but my TEAS score isn't bad (even though it isn't mandatory for UF I still took it because I am applying to other schools as well and sent it to them).

What about you guys? I already submitted my application as a transfer student to UF I just need to finish the Nursing CAS application.

Hi,

I wish you the best of luck with your application to UF BSN. I just want to mention that UF do not required TEAS. It seems you have experiences in the medical field definitely win plus.

I am applying as a transfer as well. I have a 3.83 prerequisite GPA (I am finishing 2 classes now.) and a 3.86 overall. I have not taken the TEAS yet since UF does not require it. I have volunteer at my local hospital for the past 2 years. UF is my first choice but I know how hard it is for transfers. I hope some native UF students join this page too so we can get some insight from them!

Hey everyone! I'm applying to UF as a transfer from FIU!

My GPA is currently a 3.56 with my science GPA at a 3.75!

I have health experience at CVS/Pharmacy as a certified pharmacy technician and I also work at FIU's Counseling & Psychological Services as a Peer Educator/Student Assistant.

I'm super nervous to be applying as a transfer student as i know how competitive it is at UF. They also obviously favor their own students but UF has always been a dream so let's see what happens! Best of luck to everyone!!

I also had a question about the prerequisites maybe someone can answer. I see that Uf requires Anatomy & Physiology One (including a lab component) and Anatomy & Physiology Two (including a lab component). However, at FIU we have Anatomy & Physiology separately as Human Anatomy (ZOO 3731) and Physiology (PCB 2099). I wanted to know if these courses and their lab components are acceptable as the Anatomy & Physiology One and Two requirement.....

I would think so but you should probably email or call on of the advisors to put your mind at ease.

Are you guys only entering your pre reqs in the transcipt entry section of the NursingCAS application?

Yes, prerequisites only. That tells me the prereq GPA is a big factor for admission!

Hey guys! I'm applying to UF too, and am transferring from USF! Super super nervous because I heard that only about 5 or so transfer students get into their program, since they prioritize native UF students! lol. I know they accept apps until March 1st, but do you guys know how long it takes to actually get an email or something that lets you know if you made it or not? Also, do they prioritize your GPA before anything else? I have a 4.0, but have only had minimal experiences with volunteer opportunities and such, so I am a little worried that it might not be enough.

From reading last year's thread, they found out around the beginning of June. I think they prioritize GPA but are also supposed to be holistic and look at the big picture. With a 4.0 you are in great shape!

And just out of curiosity, Do you know if decisions come out as they receive the applications, or do they wait until they receive them all first before making any decisions? I'm assuming they wait if they come out in June..? I'm just so anxious right now lol

I believe they wait for all of them because it looks like they want to see spring grades for any current UF students.
