UCF RN-BSN

Hi everyone,

I am currently taking courses toward my AA degree at Valencia College. I already applied for Valencia ASN and am waiting for the acceptance letter.

I talked to the UCF advisor a few months ago about the RN to BSN program requirements and she said the AA degree is required as well as 2 semesters of foreign languages.

Yesterday, I talked to another UCF advisor and she said AA degree and foreign language courses are not required since I will be applying after I get an RN license.

So, now I am officially confused! I'm not sure what to do.

Anybody attending RN to BSN at UCF? I need to know whether you got your AA and took foreign language courses before you apply or not.

I would go by what the catalog says, which is you need an AA or you have completed the Gen Ed requirements...which basically equals an AA

The RN-BSN program is for those who already have a license. For example I just graduated in April, have already taken my NCLEX and passed, have received my license and I'm applyung to this for the Fall. I think what you are looking for is the Valencia-UCF concurrent.

If you are going straight into UCF BSN you will need to have your AA completed with all gen. education courses per UCF standards. If you do not have your AA as the person aboved stated, you can apply tothier conncurrent either at Valencia on West campus or Seminole State college in Sanford.

Daytona also has a program for RN not sure about the BSN though. If you have your RN license, I am not positive if you need the Gen education credits for UCF BSN. Does anyone know this?

I went ahead and got most of AA finished including bth foreign lang. I do however, have two semesters of math left until my AA is complete. D-:

You do NOT need to have the AA degree before starting the program.

This is directly from the UCF website:

"RN to BSN applicants may not have more than three courses outstanding among General Education, Gordon Rule, and Foreign Language requirements prior to starting the BSN program, and these courses must be completed prior to taking 4000-level courses"
