Should I be thinking FL is the answer?

U.S.A. Florida

Hi, I am writing because I currently live in a small town in Ohio. I have had 3 interviews and 0 job offers. I have put in countless applications and have now decided that my only option is to flee Ohio. I have applied for endorsement of my RN license in FL and am just waiting for word that it is approved. I spent about a week in FL with my sister in law who lives in St. Pete and called about 10 LTC facilities. All said they were hiring. I look online and see many listings at local hospitals (Baycare, St. Pete general, etc) Yet, so many people say they are having a really hard time getting a job. I am a new grad as well but I am willing to work absolutely anywhere! I know my need for a job is no more desperate than anyone else's but I would really like to know if there is ANY hope for me getting a job down here. St. Pete, Tampa, and surrounding is the area I want to focus on (I will be living with my S.I.L while I get on my feet.) Any one else in the same boat? Any body with anything good to report?

You can find a job in Florida, but please be wary of the 'we are now hiring' answers as many places are only hiring nurses with experience. I'm sure you've already experienced that in Ohio.

Florida has a lot, lot, lot of LTC options and I'm sure you'll get *something.* If your willing to commute about an hour from St Pete, my hospital is hiring LPNs with limited experience. PM me if you are interested.
