Anyone want to jump in with yahs and nays on instructors?

I have no information on other instrutors, speaking as one of them, Barry is one of the finest Nursing Schools in the Nation. That being said, I went to the university of Miami. I had a few creatures from hell as instructors. Somehow I pulled it off and graduated 28 years ago.

Go to Barry, get your degree and don't worry about who is teaching.

To the individuals who IM'ed me - I accidently deleted, sorry! Agreed and please write again. Thank you!!

Specializes in ICU's,TELE,MED- SURG.

Barry is the best!

Individuals have PM'ed me as they are now afraid to post here - nonsense! Both schools are good and I already have my course of action. Since one professor had sexual bias complaints reported at one school, and seniors told me to specifically stay away from another professor at another school, I am asking for opinions. As we all know, professors can make or break the allmighty grade and yes, we do worry about who is teaching.

You know what, you are right. Make sure you invest the exact amount of Clinical time to get an associate degree in Nursing, that it would take you in a Baccalaureate program.

Spend the next 4-6 years working full time as a staff nurse, trying like hell to balance work and school time to change your working life so you might be considered to be on a leadership track at your institution.

Complain loudly that you are just as smart, good at this or that As Mary, because she started working with her BSN, and left you, the teacher complaining ADN in her dust.

Get pissed that you are not allowed to be Certified in Your Chosen area, because to be certified in your specialty requires a BSN degree, Like the Oncology Nursing Society.

Stay stagnant and get paid less, cuz hey, You are so knowing and did not trust the faculty at your Nursing School. And by the, get a life.

Case in point. Support mental health....

To all else: the Dean of Nursing at Barry is absolutely AWESOME! She is caring, knowledgeable, intelligent, and responsive. For those who PM'ed, there are five incredible instructors once you hit clinical. They are not adjuncts and know EVERYTHING about nursing. Keeping my fingers crossed......... :)

Hi everyone, I am new. I just started nursing school at FIU. I have an essay due and would like to have some ideas if anyone has any. Actually, I need to find out what are the differences between a doctor and a nurse. I never worked in the medical field so that is why I am so ignorant about the topic.

Thank you I will greatly appreciate your help

Way back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I was a student nurse, I had a care plan handed back to me 5 times. I insisted an NG tube was the patient's problem, and my instructor held steadfast and handed me to paper back and told me to think. The sixth time was the charm as I figured out the NG tube was the remedy for the patients inability to swallow.

So where do you begin? First of all Do not use the "d" word, the proper term is "Physician." Next, go to the dictionary and look them both up. Where are they similar in their roles? Where do their roles contrast? Go into the Nursing Process an organized way of thinking that is always consistent.

Start reading about Florence Nightengale and her Establishing Nursing as an honorable profession.

Look up Dorothia Orems and speak about Orem's theory the major focus of Nursing Practice today, helping the patient acheive "self care".

Next medicine, No longer is the Hippocratic Oath taken, the Oath of Miamonides is the standard of Practice today. http://www.giveusourdegree.com/infulence.htm http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/source/rambam-oath.html

Tell me what kind of grade "we" get after it is graded

Barbara
