What is the salaries around Florida for LPN's. Also are there any sign on bonuses, repay loans or any perks?

Thanks,

Julie

The LPN pay in the Pensacola area and surrounding Gulf Coast area is TERRIBLE and embarrassing. A LPN w/3-4 years experience in a hospital w/ bene's is 11.00-12.50 per hour. I'm a new RN and the RN pay here is embarrassing, also. They say that the cost of living is low but the pay here is even lower. I'm only staying here for 3 years and moving somewhere else to help my family. I am currently researching areas such as Jacksonville, Orlando, and any other cities which may benefit my family and myself. Don't get me wrong....I truly love nursing but I want to be paid well 4 all my sacrifices while in nursing school and the demands of working long hours.

Lpn's in South florida can make decent money working perdiem. I made $18/hr working perdiem when I was still an LPN, then I went agency working Telemetry at $24/hr.

As an ER RN I started at $ 20.53 as my base plus $3 and $ 4 more for eves and nights plus $4.00 weekends and a $5000 sign on bonus.

Although its a bit more expensive to live in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami than other parts of Florida.
